“Lovely Christmas break in Benidorm”
We had a lovely time at the Olympus Hotel it was a great base for getting out and exploring some of what Benidorm has to offer plus very clean. Although very Spanish orientated we were in Spain so this did not phase us. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and the food and drink on offer was extremely good. The room was large and very comfortable with a large en suite and very quiet in general as in a residential area. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed Feliz Navidad and our 35th Wedding Anniversary both celebrated here with a lovely bottle of Cava included for good measure. The surrounding area has some eateries Tapas bars and Cafes within easy reach approx 5 minutes walk in 3 directions and one we loved to go to was El Rincon de Freddy's for lovely food and drinks with great service. The Old Town was great as was Tapas Alley, St Jaime church and the Balcon. The square, shops, bars and cafes were wonderful as were the lovely walks and scenery plus freshly cooked hot chestnuts on the promenade by the sea and paddling along a lovely clean beach front in December was bliss. We will definitely return and explore this area further and do not know why we did not go years ago .
“A little gem of a hotel”
We stayed at the Olympus Hotel for a week to celebrate Christmas and a special big birthday on the 29th December. We couldn't fault it. The rooms were extremely clean with fresh towels every day. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and found the food and drinks offer was good. Staff at the Olympus were all very professional and friendly. There was entertainment in the evenings which was lively. We had a lovely surprise when a lady on Reception (sorry didn't get her name) who was celebrating her same special big birthday the next day, arranged for a bottle of fizzy to be sent to our room to celebrate. It was such a special touch, thank you! The pool area on the roof was nice and we even managed to sit out when the sun was out.
“Not as good as we initially expected but had good points.”
The hotel was clean and felt safe but was not entirely as advertised and the facilities were tired and need updating. When we arrived we had booked transfers from Alicante, the coach dropped us outside hotel park fiesta which is a good 10 minutes walk up steep hills and it picks up at the same location which was not fun for our return trip. The hotel was advertised on the on the beach website in the UK but when we got there it was very obvious that it was geared towards Spanish pensioners very much like Saga holiday hotels are geared to British ones. The food was plentiful and high quality but I strongly advise that you do not stay here if you have fussy eaters in your party as it is very Spanish leaning. I am not one of these Brits that complains that foreign food or holidaymakers are in hotels when I am abroad, however I feel that the travel agency needs to make this clear so that an informed choice can be made. The entertainment was also heavily for the Spanish crowd and again this needs to be made more clear on time travel agencies website and the hotel information as it was quite baffling. As the hotel is a good 40 minutes walk from the centre of town and no other bars are in the vicinity due to it being in a residential area it gives no option to go elsewhere. The pool area is very small and not well maintained and also the pool bar was not open despite the large numbers of people around it. All in all I would not stay here again and would recommend that travel agencies give proper information about the style of hotel so that people can make an informed decision on whether they wish you book this hotel.
“Good location for staying in Benidorm”
We booked a junior suite. Good sized room. There is a kettle but no teabags to make tea! The bed was comfortable. The cooked breakfast was a bit disappointing. Everything was just luke warm. Plenty of choice with pastries which were nice. This hotel is well worth the money for couple of nights stay. Great location. Friendly staff.
“Such a lovely stay”
Just came back from a 4 night stay and we can’t really fault it the location is in the old town away from all the loud night life but it’s literally only 10 minutes walk so it’s quiet if you just need to relax but a short walk and your in the hustle and bustleof things we went at the end of November for my youngest daughters 21st and found that we were probably the youngest people in the entire hotel, but that was okay because everybody was so lovely the food was lovely. The only gripI had was it could’ve been hotter but I also have worked in a kitchen myself so I know that if you turn the lights up on the hot food stations it’s all gonna dry out andit won’t be as lovely there’s something for everybody nobody is going to starve being the end of November most of the people that was there were Spanish however they were all lovely very very kind and welcoming. We found it crazy that all the older people are always dancing. Or doing exercise the.drinks on the all-inclusive were really really good a nice size. The rooftop bar was not open but again it is November and winter. We thought it was funny to see people walking around in hat scarf and gloves while we were walking around in cardigans and dresses and Christmas music playing. In 19° heat a far cry from the weather in England the hotel itself was lovely and clean. The room was basic. but served its purpose and was cleaned every day and we had clean towels brought into our room every single day. It was just a really nice holiday and we will be back. Thank you very much hotel Olympus for making my daughter‘s 21st birthday so special it will be a memory that she treasures forever.
