“Excellent hotel full of character”

The hotel had a lot of character and was in a great location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good and plenty to choose from along with anything you wanted cooking.

The building is spectacular in a Baroque style and the rooms very large and comfortable. The lady owner was extremely nice and helpful

There was no bar or restaurant available. The sister restaurant was so closed.

The room/suite was too big with a bedroom and a saloon and the walkthrough closet. With this large bedroom you would expect a wider bed. There weren’t enough outlets to charge our electronic devices nearby. The process during breakfast could be improved. It’s not so nice to wait for your coffee for such a long time. Smaller tables would improve the idea of a more intimate meal. There are only 2 restaurants/bars reachable by foot, so you need a car.

Palacete Peñalba is a tranquil and safe Hotel, precisely what I need on vacation. The breakfast is superb, and the staff is accommodating and suggests ideas to help. Maria Jesus is incredibly generous, kind, and cares about all the clients. There is no Wi-Fi, so one can focus on disconnecting from the stress of the work. The views of the Ria are spectacular. The location is also great; Figueras is near Ribadeo by boat or car. The Peñalba restaurant is worth visiting. We had one of the best meals, incredible seafood, outstanding service, and great attention from Pepe. It is probably one of the best five services we ever had in a restaurant in Spain.

To be improved

This is an ideal destination for Spring till the early summer and then again for the Fall. But going there in August when the temperature is over 30 Celsius is not suitable due to the lack of Air conditioning in the rooms. After a day or so, we got used to this.
