“Overpriced given location and breakfast”

Room was clean but due to 30c temperature no aircon and only a fan which just seemed to blow the hot air about the room made it uncomfortable

To be improved

Thought 157 euros was expensive given that location was beside some sort of large oil/gas refinery. There was no bottled water in room. No aircon. There is no food available apart from breakfast. Owner suggested ordering carry-out said nearby restaurants very expensive but we had steak meal, dessert and a bottle of wine which was delicious for 103 euros. Breakfast was not very appetising. Orange juice was squash rather than even concentrated juice, margarine instead of butter, cold precooked omelette sitting to be microwaved, fruit bowl and pastries available rather meagre.

“Excellent & very Enjoyable stay”

The whole place was warm & welcoming,even though we were early ,Paco & Ana couldn't do enough for us,excellent Hosts

To be improved

Only downside were no meals on site or in immediate area ,except a lovely breakfast but hosts bent over backwards to provide details of takeaway delivery services etc

“A peaceful and comfortable overnight stop for those taking the ferry”

The best

The hôtel is small, peaceful and the staff are friendly. It is ten minutes country drive from the ferry terminal. Its position is quirky, with a quiet village on one side, and the backdrop of a large refinery on the other - a surreal spectacle which looks like a CGI creation. Curiously, this is not off putting. Nor is the view of the motorway viaduct. Perhaps this is because it is quiet and the air pure. We left feeling rested. There is a pretty beach a few minutes away.

To be improved

Whilst the hotel has a small bar, its cafeteria was not functioning during our stay. The places by the beach were bars with processed food, catering for low-budget tourists, and there were no proper restaurants. There do appear to be a few in surrounding villages and it would be advisable to identify these in advance, or self-cater, though there are no local shops of note.
