“Basic, not 4*, won’t return”
Just returned from a week at Hotel Palia, okay place but definitely not 4-star! Considering much better options in Torremolinos, we won’t return to this one. Pros: Friendly, helpful staff Comfortable bed Close to beach access Short walk to town centre Flavourful food and good selection although quite repetitive, lots of meats Decent beer on tap (San Miguel) Cons: Guests were quite rude and inconsiderate Guests reserve pool loungers for hours although not allowed Seems mainly for the 60+ age group Difficult to get a lounger (even in off-season) Only one pool, & deep end was 2/3 of it Pool area lacked lushness and serenity, too close to surrounding buildings (including a school) No hand cream, shampoo, or tissues provided in room Must pay for wifi and in-room safe Mediocre ‘entertainment’ Low-grade liquors and wines, barely any effect Lunch and dinner foods nearly identical, minor changes from day to day No outside dining Hotel needing updates and repairs: lobby sofas dingy, corridor carpets smelly, room smelled of mould/mildew with AC off, chipped furniture, duct tape holding urinal plumbing together
“Lovely holiday”
We had a fantastic stay here, the hotel room was tidy and cleaned well daily, the only downside was the air con wasnt great. The staff were all friendly from the cleaners to the bar staff and the entertainment guys. The food was great always lots of options and the meat and fish from the show cooking was lovely, we even had a couple of theme nights, mexican and chinese. We wasnt fussed on the evening entertainment, so went for a short walk into the town where there was lots of great bars, restaurants and shops. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here
“3 night stay”
Good food choices and very yummy. Staff are friendly and always happy to help. The pool is big enough and coming out of season meant less children. The hotel closed the day we left and we were able to our luggage. No late check out (usually €50) due to closure but we were able to use the lunch and all facilities until 3pm. The beach is 5 minutes walk and sun beds are reasonable. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would come back, although we only stayed for three night. I wouldn't spend a week here due to a lack of close by day options and the evening entertainment might get a little boring.
“Hotel palia palomas”
The staff are mostly quite friendly, food ok ,pool snacks good, room cleaning bad had to actually ask for our room to be cleaned day 3.sun bed availability good ,WiFi expensive and completely rubbish, no English channels at all on tv,security guard rude and so was the day reception guy .will not be coming here again.
“Great location. 3 Stars”
Hotel Palia Las Palomas presents a mixed experience for its guests, offering some highlights alongside areas for improvement. **Positive Aspects:** The hotel is in a *prime location*, conveniently situated near all the key attractions and amenities you might need. Whether you’re looking to explore the local area or enjoy the nearby beach, the hotel's placement is ideal. Additionally, the *food is very good* catering to a variety of tastes. From fresh selections at every meal to plenty of options for every palate, there’s something for everyone. While the cooked breakfast could be warmer, you'll never go hungry, as the range and quality are quite commendable, you can eat 24/7. Furthermore, the *Jumbo team works incredibly hard* bringing a lot of energy and effort to keep guests entertained, although their enthusiasm can sometimes feel overwhelming. The hotel bed, was *comfortable*, ensuring a fair night’s sleep, even if some of the room space could be better utilized for couples. Lastly, the views from room 242 offers a slight glimpse of the sea and a busy road. **Negative Aspects:** Unfortunately, several aspects of the hotel fall short of its advertised four-star rating. One major issue is the *lack of Wi-Fi*, which in today’s connected world, is an expected standard for most travelers, especially in a 4-star establishment. The *carpets in the corridors have a bad odor*, detracting from the overall cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. The rooms, while functional, are *shabby and in need of updating*. My room for instance, had cracked bathroom tiles, a badly stained toilet bowl with severe lime scale, giving the bathroom a rather unappealing appearance. The hotel is *multi-national*, but in reality, it caters predominantly to French guests, making it difficult for non-French speakers to fully engage with the entertainment, especially given how *loud and repetitive the music* is, making communication challenging. There are also *service issues*. The *key card system* is unreliable, often blamed on interaction with mobile phones, though many guests reported issues even when their phones were nowhere near the cards. The *outdoor bar closes early* at 8 p.m., forcing guests to move inside when they might prefer to enjoy the evening weather outdoors. Moreover, there seems to be an imbalance between the *number of Jumbo staff* and *bar staff*, leading to longer wait times for drinks, especially during peak times. The *noise from the road* at the back of the hotel can also be disruptive, particularly for those in rooms like 242, which offers a less than inspiring view of the car park and a large skip. Finally, certain amenities that are typically included in a 4-star hotel, like a *safe* and *Wi-Fi*, come at an extra cost, which seems unjustified for a hotel of this supposed standard. I didn’t purchase the Wi-Fi as I was told it wouldn’t work in the rooms, only the lobby and communal spaces. **Conclusion:** Overall, while the hotel has its positive aspects, such as the food, location, and hardworking staff, the various shortcomings – from shabby rooms to service flaws – make it feel more like a 3-star experience than the 4 stars it claims to be.
