The hotel was fantastic. Freindly staff. Lovely building.

To be improved

Location great if your on a motorbike as its a bit out of town. So if you want to go into town you have to get back on your bike. However it would be fine if you have a car. And they did have a restaurant with a fxed menu. Don't let my comments regarding the location put you off. I would definitely stay again. And when all is said and done, it had a bar and a restaurant.

magnificent building, helpful staff

The refurbishment didn’t reflect the grandeur of the historic building. It was clean, but the finish felt cheap. The bathroom was particularly frustrating — the sink was so shallow that using it made water splash everywhere. The shower controls were confusing, and I ended up soaking myself just trying to turn on the hand-held shower. The fixtures were meant to be stylish, but they weren’t practical or comfortable to use. (Although admittedly it happens in most hotels nowadays...)
