Hotel Pinar del Mar

Pinar del Mar is a reasonably-priced 3* hotel with no frills. The rooms are clean, bijou and adequate. The hotel is located about 10 minutes easy walk from Platja d'Aro. Regarding facilities, whilst the hotel has a pool, it's pretty small and the spa is frankly a waste of time - we had the worst massages we have ever had on unforgiving metal beds. The breakfast is ok for a few days, but it is the same every day and not always that healthy. That said, the staff are friendly and polite. For a few days of a holiday or for a business person passing through, the hotel experience is fine...but a week might be too much.

My husband and I are just home from a 3 night bed and breakfast stay at this delightful family run hotel. It was excellent value for money and the buffet breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere. There was so much choice available! It was all freshly put out/ and checked regularly by the friendly staff. The hotel is situated at the edge of Playa d'aro near to the marina. It is about a 5 minute easy walk to the beach and shops/ restaurants are nearby ( altho being late season, many of the closest restaurants were closed and so it was necessary to go a bit further into the centre.) We had hired a car and found it easy to park close to the hotel in the streets nearby,This hotel has spa facilities and a small outdoor pool and sun terrace that mainly got the sun in the afternoon. (Not a problem as beach is not far away.) The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. The hotel was quite busy for the time of year mainly with couples and adults, but it was quiet and peaceful. The room was very comfortable ( very good quality mattress on the bed and therefore very comfy) . Cleaned daily and was spotless. The room had a fridge and hairdryer. An added bonus would've been a kettle/ tea and coffee facilities, but few hotels seem to provide this abroad . We took a travel kettle and a couple of cups as we realised this in advance. Also there were no complimentary toiletries. This wasn't an issue for us, but am just pointing it out for future travellers.

We stayed 1-8th Sept 17. Absolutely blown away with the hospitality, food and presentation of the rooms. Wonderfully warm welcome, nothing too much trouble at all. We used the Spa, this too was fabulous and the treatments are really great. Owner and staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly. Lovely,relaxing week being pampered and looked after by everyone from the owner to the cleaners. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Lots of great places around the area to eat out, close to the beaches, marina and Lots of great shops in town. 25 min transfer from GIRONA Airport. Thanks for a fabulous week. We will definitely be coming back to you!

From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly welcome and relaxed - we were treated to cava on the terrace while our room was prepared. The staff were so friendly and helpful and very hard-working. The room was everything we needed, comfortable and clean and well attended with a side-facing balcony. Parking wasn't a problem as there was so much space on side streets. There was lots of choice at breakfast for veggies and meat eaters alike and plenty of space to sit out on the terrace at night considering the hotel being fairly small. There are lots of beautiful beaches within a short walk from the hotel and the main Platja d'Aro centre is around 5 minutes away. We can't wait to come back, this was the perfect advert for Catalonia!

This is a really nice family hotel. Super friendly people and owner! Clean rooms, nice beds and good working airco. Breakfast is also great and relaxed. No pushing of people, good food and quite atmosphere. 5 minutes walk to the beach and 10-15 min. walk to centrum. If we go back to Platja d'Aro this is our hotel.

A few years ago we were in the same hotel and it looked nice and clean. Now, 5 years later it is not that beautiful anymore and the rooms could be cleaner. Service was good, friendly staff, breakfast ok, helpful people.
