Staff were friendly and accommodating, providing helpful recommendations.
Located centrally with easy walking access to wineries and restaurants.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views.
Great value for the location and quality of the hotel.
Overall a lovely stay with minor noise issues on weekends.
Various cafes nearby, but no breakfast service at the hotel.
“Lovely hotel, walk to everything”
Lovely place. Victor the concierge was very kind and helpful. Note to people who are used to 24 hour reception at hotels, in Europe check in is typically only during certain hours. Beautiful room overlooking plaza. Not noisy, can hear families and friends enjoying the day, but not annoying. Great view. Learned parking is free on Sunday and most of Monday, were told until 5 pm. Most restaurants are open for lunch not dinner, but still many dinner options. You can stay here and walk towards train station where all the wineries are in a row, walking is on sidewalks. Wineries close at 2 or 3 pm on weekends. Not sure on week days. We tasted at Gomez Cruzado and they had an English speaking guide. There is a 20 euro per person charge to try 5 wines. They offer 4 and 3 wine tastings too for less. Very nice. We enjoyed it. Streets in Haro are tight and windy, but manageable. Tip, entrance to this hotel is off the big, square or plaza, so you will have to park and walk with your luggage. There is a 15 minute hotel loading zone right where google maps tells you "you have arrived". Park there and then check in. Hotel also has paid garage. Can't check in until 2 pm so we parked in residential area a few blocks away and had lunch at great tapas bar, Arde. Highly recommend. If your Spanish is rusty, Google translate, including live captions, makes it easy for everyone. Victor at hotel spoke English.
“Worth considering !”
A great value hotel in a great location . Separate parking garage which you can reserve, it’s about 3-4 min walk away from the hotel , but not a problem. A few breakfast options available from the cafe’s on the square . Close to the restaurants and bars . A good consideration if looking to stay in Haro.!
“Lovely, Small Hotel on the Square”
Great value for money, excellent attentive staff and reasonable sized room for a 3* hotel. We were in Room 301 (or ask for 302), third floor overlooking the square with a Juliette balcony (that you can’t sit on) but you can sit at the window and people watch quite happily. Room is well equipped with small fridge - slightly cooler than a drinks fridge (yeah), Safe, good closet area, decent sized bathroom with an excellent shower and nice flooring (rather than carpets!). We did have to ask for a kettle which they were happy to provide. Breakfast not included and doesn’t need to be as there are restaurants outside the door…
“Spain in spring”
Right on the central square of the old town, ask for rooms 01 or 02 to ensure you’re not at the back. V nice tapas bar below. Parking a couple of blocks away by you can pull up on the other side of the square to drop off. All clean and fresh and people friendly and helpful
“Nice hotel in a central position - loud on fiestas”
Couple stayed one night. Getting to the hotel required the two of us as the hotel is in a pedestrian area and the parking spaces which are supposedly for temp parking while checking in were barriered off. So I had to double park with hazards while the wife popped in to check-in and get parking directions. They send a lot of info in advance on how to find the. And it is as well to have this on hand. Once parked in their car park, about 1/4 mile away, it was easy. Hotel entrance is rather obscure, literally a door to a lift and stairs. Check-in on 1st floor. Nice hotel and very helpful receptionist who spoke excellent English. It’s right on the main square which, depending on your view, is a blessing or a curse. You get a ringside seat for the action but if you are looking to have an early night you may be in for a disappointment. Location for other stuff is excellent, a short stroll to the tapas bar areas. We unwittingly were there for the Festivitie of Our Lady of the Vega, the patron saint of Haro. What a spectacle, a lot of which we watched from our hotel room on the 1st floor overlooking the plaza. The (very loud) music went on until 3am, hence my comments re an early night. The Spanish certainly known how to party. A good hotel and we’d be happy to return
“Great location, comfortable room”
My husband and I spent 3 nights in Haro and were very happy with our stay at the Hotel Plaza de la Paz. The facilities seem new, the room was clean and spacious, including a small sofa, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were nice - there was even a towel warmer. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is right on the plaza and was initially hard to figure out get to it by car - we finally managed to drive to the plaza where we could park for a few minutes while we checked in and got directions to the parking garage a couple blocks away (you have to reserve a space in advance). It is really convenient for many restaurants and pintxos, and also to visit the wineries (a 15 minute walk). And there are a couple cafes on the plaza that have light breakfast food. Overall, a great place to stay for a visit to Haro!
