Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Staff were described as lovely, providing good service. However, a few guests noted the dated feel of the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located near big box stores and public transport. Some guests found it a bit far from the station.
Most guests had a positive experience, with affordable rates and comfortable beds being highlights.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable, but some guests felt they were cheaply furnished.
Guests appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms, but some mentioned minor issues like the lack of a wastebin.
Breakfast options were minimal, with only eggs and croissants available.
“Great location on the main square”
Lovely hotel overlooking the main square in a beautiful village on the Camino. The rooms are lovely and spotless. There is a very good breakfast in a room overlooking the square for those on the Camino.
“Good hotel and well priced for B&B and evening meal.”
Easy to find. Clean hotel with basic rooms which suited our needs. Safe, secure underground parking. Set meal with unlimited local wine for evening meal which was exceptionally good. Total price for huge evening three course meal for seven persons - 105 euros. Yep, that’s good value. Thanks to Arancha who went above and beyond assisting us. Would definitely go there again.
“Well done Thankyou for making me feel welcome. It was a pleasant change from my last hotel.”
Very nice hotel compared with by default I have just left . The Temple. Very well spoken staff. Quite unusual as I’ve never experienced a hotel without a bar ,although they had a Cafe/bar which was pleasing and simple and a buffet restaurant. Plus underground parking. Rooms very clean very bright. And….. a big and! Everything in the room worked instant hot water. Which I haven’t been used too in another hotel across the road. Food delicious well done for making me feel welcome in an adverse situation. At short notice too, having been stranded in Ponferrada for over a week trying unsuccessfully to repair my motorcycle. Just a point which came to my attention. Corridors very noisy at night. The floors are tiled and sound echoes, Perhaps if the hotel reads this , a one metre wide carpet straight down the middle. Would make a massive difference.
“Comodo y bien situado para una o dos noches”
No esta mal, cama comoda, pero mal insonorizado.Nos sorprendio la poca ayuda en cuanto a informacion sobre las fiestas de la ciudad que le solicitamos a la recepcionista.Ya que se limito a darnos un plano sin mas....para nuestro gusto,la verdad, muy seca y parca en palabras.
“Lovely hotel..but...location !”
Everything is right about this hotel, clean , very helpful staff rooms are good ...BUT not if you are a tourist unless you particularly want to be opposite Decathlon or McDonald's or Lidil ! It's a very long walk to the Castle Square area 25 mins i would say at least ! So unless you particularly want to be opposite a retail park it's not for you! It IS a 10 walk from the bus station though! Lovely hotel wrong location...for me !
“City centre delight”
Once we found our way in to this centrally located hotel it was well worth the wait. Nicely refurbished, nice reception, bar area and our well appointed spacious room that overlooks the square. Initially the underground car park entrance seemed difficult to find, but is only minutes away, with the pedestrian entrance just across the square. Continental breakfast is served in the basement restaurant, most enjoyable with fresh produce and a good choice. Ample shops, bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets and alleyways provide an abundance of choice of places to have a beer or a meal. A great atmosphere all around with many of the bars serving tapas with a beer. The castle is worth a look for the energetic but watch your stepping as some of it is quite difficult in places. But a lot of history and some great views. We didn't eat at the hotel but judging by the outside restaurant area it was always busy, so, seems a good place to eat. Had we been here more than two nights we would have given it our custom. If I'm ever back in Ponferrada I would certainly return to this wonderfully clean hotel where the staff are pleasant, helpful and cheery. Not forgetting housekeeping staff who do a wonderful job.
