View and location was good. Room size and cleanliness was very acceptable. The hotel is central to the places we wanted to visit.

To be improved

We booked as independent guests but as soon as a coach tour group arrived the attitude of some of the staff changed and they completely ignored us. There was no information available with regards to time of breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was no smoke alarm system in the room. The shower head had no wall fixing and was just left in the bath. Although there is a cafeteria it was not open during the day so unable to get a drink (hot or cold) outside of mealtimes. There was a note to say rooms were not automatically cleaned every day; that is fine but you would expect beds to be made up. The restaurant menu although showed 6 or so choices only 2 were ever available, always the same choice for both lunch and dinner and every day and was very expensive for the small portion.. The tour group took precedence over independent guests as we were made to feel unwelcome by some of the staff. The hotel has no bedrooms on the ground floor only on the lower ground floor and upper floor which made for difficult access to rooms as there is no lift or easy access slope alongside the stairs.
