“Great beach gem”
Lovely hotel and staff. Fab kids club for children. Entertainment staff went out of there way to look after our children and spoke Spanish. Thanks to Amanda for such kindness to my twins. Food is varied, big queues of you go Spanish time at dinner eg 9-930. Lovely towels which are complimentary for the beach. There are rustic parasols to rent which was at a discounted rate of you charged to the room. no tap water at restaurant, you have to buy all drinks- soft and alcoholic. That was a little grating. Fun Spanish music for evening entertainment. It is loud, so you just have to go with it! It is right next to the beach. The old town is lovely. No hen or stag parties. it is very safe for a family and nice to be with the locals than Brits on tour. I agree with the previous positive reviews, but having to pay for all drinks and also the parasols, have docked a point. But a lovely hotel in all.
“Good for Spanish-speaking guests (only)”
We stayed at Hotel Casablanca last week and overall had a lovely time. The hotel has a lot going for it: clean and comfortable rooms, an unbeatable beachfront location, a great little kids' pool, and a variety of food. That said, we wanted to share a few things for non-Spanish-speaking guests to be aware of. While we did thorough research before booking and found mostly great reviews, we were surprised to find that all of the communication was exclusively in Spanish. All of the entertainment was also entirely in Spanish, we were really looking forward to things like the comedy show, bingo, and hypnosis night—but unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy any of it due to the language barrier. Most of the staff spoke little to no English, which made many aspects—like using the kids’ club—challenging. To their credit, several staff members made a real effort to help us despite the language barrier. Yohan at reception was particularly helpful, and the kids’ club and restaurant staff were warm and friendly. However, there were also a few interactions where we felt other staff weren’t as willing to help. The food was good, though vegetarian options were limited and not labelled. Occasionally, we noticed flies around the buffet, which was a minor downside. One other point to mention is the evening entertainment. It went on until around midnight most nights and was quite loud, so it's worth noting that getting to sleep before then may be difficult—especially for families with young children. All in all, Hotel Casablanca offers a great stay for Spanish-speaking guests. For others, it’s still a beautiful destination, but be prepared for communication hurdles.
“A holiday to remember! Great hotel, kind staff, lovely facilities, large rooms, stunning views, good food, fab location!”
It was a delightful and enjoyable experience, exactly as a holiday should be. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always readily available. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the housekeeping team worked diligently. Our spacious room was spotless every day. Breakfast was pleasant, offering a wide variety of food. The kitchen and dining staff were exceptionally kind and always wore a smile. The facilities were excellent, and the location was ideal for families with children. We cherished our evening strolls to Peniscola. It was lively but not overcrowded. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the staff's easygoing and relaxed nature significantly contributed to our wonderful holiday in Peniscola. We felt safe and comfortable at the hotel. Our only concern was that smoking was permitted in several areas, including children's zones, and ashtrays were provided on balcony tables, despite the hotel's claim of being a non-smoking hotel.
“Good hotel for a family stay, just hope you don't get loud guests around”
Family friendly and relaxed environment. Highlight was probably the breakfast which had a good variety, although I noticed that after 10:00 there was a big line of people that could not fit within the space and had to wait
Most of the rooms face the swimming pools/common garden area, so at night it got a bit loud with people passing by. Worst was the people coming back from clubbing and deciding to continue enjoying the night drinking in front of their rooms. Not hotel's fault, but wasn't a nice experience for us.
“Was great”
Very nice and friendly stuff , well organized keep going From Canada
“Nice hotel in quiet location”
The rooms are spacious, clean and the staff is very friendly. Facilities for kids are ok.
The variety and quality of food is for 3 stars hotel. An indoor swimming pool would be an advantage during the months when the outdoor pool does not function.
