“Enjoyable stay”
3rd visit and will be back. High standard of cleanliness. Staff helpful and excellent entertainment team. Great food choice options.
“Great accommodation Top notch mojitos”
We had a wonderful time here with our family. The staff and the bars were first class. I loved how they always cleared dirty used plates and glasses from your table. It was all run very efficiently and in a friendly welcoming way The buffet food was fine lots of salad choices but the meet and fish sometimes erred on the overcooked side The Asian style restaurant was very good and we visited twice. The Spanish surprisingly was very disappointing with lots of very mushy food and unlabeled dishes which you had to guess what they were. In fact all the restaurants had very few labels and some food was labeled wrongly. Ie label says calamari but in front could be chicken or onion For these reasons I would only score the food 3. My favourites were the Canary potatoes and mojo sauce, the selection of breads and pastries and the breakfasts.
“Relaxing Easter holiday”
A clean, full-service hotel where it's easy to enjoy yourself, eat well, and recharge your batteries. Friendly and helpful staff.
“No premium drinks!”
My wife, daughter and I have previously stayed at a RIU hotel in Torremolinos and we were delighted that they had premium branded drinks. They had the same at RIU Gran Canaria. Not at RIU Papayas! A shame that there are different drink offerings as you would expect the same at any RIU hotel.
“Disappointed”
Really disappointed - we've visited numerous RIU's over the years as well as other all inclusive, we usually go on 4 holidays a year and aren't overly fussy but we really were not impressed with this hotel. Enough to write a review - i don't normally bother! Good points 1) Great staff, 2) Really clean, 3) Decent central location to walk around (which was needed). Negative points 1) Poor food quality - virtually all tinned fruit and veg. Mains were "ok" but really poor compared with other AI's we've been on. We paid around £4.5k through TUI for 3 of us for a week so was left feeling ripped off. Alcohol options were poor and even the coffee wasn't great. We did the asian restaurant - it was a buffet similar to the main one just with an asian theme plus the usual salad bar - olives/pickled onion/tomatoes etc Food choice was probably the worst RIU AI we've been to. Meats were abit of grilled fish, burger (with/without cheese) - tasted horrible, grilled chicken breast if you were lucky. One day there was some sort of boiled gammon shank carvery style but it was inedible. 2) Complete lack of activities - no pool table, table tennis, games room. annimation problem only. This led us to leave the resort to find things to do as well as buy food and drink externally having already paid for all inclusive. 3) Bloody sunbeds - get up at 730-830 or your struggling. No towel police so people just leave them on the beds all day with most not being used. Overall very disappointed for whats supposed to be a 4 star. I repeat-- i'm not picky but left feeling it was a waste of money. Avoid!
“First visit, very pleased.”
