“Basic but beautiful surroundings”
This hotel is in a brilliant location, surrounded by beautiful beaches. You'll find plenty of restaurants and shops just a short walk away. There are also many moped hire places nearby. There is parking available on site. The hotel itself is basic but pleasant. It is old so don't expect luxury and modern facilities. Breakfast is standard. There are plenty of options but again, don't expect items such as fresh orange juice, avocado, salmon etc. The pool area was always quiet. Possibly due to seagulls and sand flies dominating the area. But there are amazing beaches to explore so you won't be out of options. I personally really liked our room. It served it's purpose and the exotic tiles were cute. Shower was great too! Our room had a terrace area, a clothes rack, sunbeds, dining table etc - it was wonderful. Wi-Fi worked well - I even had access on the beach away from the hotel. Staff were nice enough. We had a brilliant stay.
“Very happy with my choice of this hotel.”
Sound of the waves and beauty of the ocean from my room.
No regrets
“Service with a smile”
The hard-working and professional staff made another memorable experience at my favourite hotel in Formentera even better. It was the end of the season, but that time had many advantages, including fewer tourists on the island with many of its chiringitos, bars and restaurants still open. By the end of the third week, most tourist places were closing for the season. As a returning guest, you are greeted with warm smiles, helpful assistance, upgraded rooms, and easy access to many fantastic beaches nearby. The weather was perfect, not too hot but still lots of sunshine to sunbathe safely and enjoy the warm seas. Winds at this time of year increase, so fresh, healthy air quality ensues. The cleaning staff and their attention to detail were good, with crisp linen sheets and comfortable beds where you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. As usual, the polite reception desk staff were always on hand to help answer any questions or inquiries. I was able to move my booking with a minimum of fuss when I contacted the hotel directly. The best rates and experience are always available when you book directly with the hotel's website. The owner was always present to fix any problems and offer advice. You don't see this at many hotels; his attention to his guest's experience sets the tone of discreet and friendly management. Many of the same staff return year after year, which is a very good sign. Special praise goes to the staff at the beachside restaurant Zulmar, which is a popular local venue for the quality of its fresh fish plates. It gets pretty busy with locals for lunch when serving the fish of the day menu. So well done to the chef and the kitchen team. The fish Paella, Dorado and Lubina sea bream were excellent. In the evening, it's quieter with just hotel guests, mainly national guests at this time of the year. The old-style, family-friendly, relaxed and simple atmosphere sets this hotel apart from others, alongside its excellent location perched on rocks and surrounded by 180-degree views of the sea. Its local Catalan style of hospitality is reflected in the quality of its service and food, which is something Formentera is famous for. You get the bonus of sunset from your balcony in the evening and sunrise from the breakfast terrace in the mornings; such is the perfect orientation of the hotel, which maximises its natural surroundings and plays to its strengths. I had another lovely holiday at Roca Bella and departed fully refreshed, tanned and healthy. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their kind hospitality and making my holiday so enjoyable.
