“Great hotel, highly recommend”
Recently returned from 11 nights at this hotel. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are very friendly. The rooms we had were clean and the beds made daily. We were half board and, for me, there was something to eat everyday, however my dad struggled just a little bit as he's a very plain eater and quite fussy. Despite that, he praised the restaurant and the staff. I was in a room with my dad but when we got the key, they had put us in a double bed. My daughter was in with a family friend and luckily their room had 3 beds so I stayed in there, rather than having to go to reception and ask them to reallocate. The rooms were a great size, plenty of storage and the balcony was a great size overlooking the outdoor pool. We were on the first floor and close to the lift which was great for my dad and our friend, who both have mobility issues. Pros Close to beach and shops. Superb location. Beautiful decor including a couple of old cars 3 pools to choose from including a salt water indoor pool, which altho not warm, was definitely warmer than the outside one. Plenty of sunbeds as there is a roof top area that has different types of sunbeds and also tables and chairs Super friendly staff including one guy in the restaurant (didn't get his name) who kept me supplied with watermelon (even after I'd left the restaurant, he bought me some to a side door. Really appreciated that 🥰). Great food from the poolside bar Generous sized rooms (and balconies) which have a kettle and fridge. Shower was amazing, and didn't drop temperature which can sometimes happen. Safe in room which you don't have to pay extra for Really good wifi Mobility scooters/ walkers available to rent Cons No entertainment in the hotel however there was an entertainment room, which you accessed via the adjacent snack bar, from which you had to get drinks and they were not included in the all inclusive package. The entertainment was only for 1 hour a night and there was no animation team to keep you entertained before the visiting artists, which started at 9.30pm. All inclusive you could access from the restaurant and pool side snack bar, no where else. Unfortunately there were an awful lot of flies which were a pest, more so in the adults only pool area. Not sure if the hotel could have sprayed anything to deter them. Not the hotels fault but it did put you off going up there. There were no lifts to adults only area, nor toilets, so for those with mobility problems it could cause issues. Toilets. For such a big hotel, the toilet locations weren't the best. Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel and hopefully will return
“Meant to be a 4 star but more 3.”
Location: stunning, could net get any closer to the beach. Spectacular views. Coast line beautiful. Loads of shops and plenty of restaurants. Hotel: staff friendly and helpful. rooms very small. Food wasent 2, my liking, always cold warm at best. We went all-inclusive, not worth it. There are not enough bars to get drinks from. No atmosphere at all. Room very small and not very clean, cleaned myself one day, balcony never swept or mopped in the 5 days we were there. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Meant to be a four star hotel, more a 3 at most.

“Positives and negatives, would not return”
First the POSITIVES. Reception staff were lovely and helpful as was security guy who helped when ever he could. Plenty of sunbeds available and pools not over full. Adult only pool and day beds appreciated. Very close to the beautiful beach and a lovely walk up the castle/folly which we enjoyed. If you want to snorkel go far right on the beach where the rocks jut out there are fish there and water is calmer and feels safer. It was difficult getting in and out close to the hotel unless you are fit and strong and not many different fish to see there either, so walk along the beach for 15 mins to enjoy that area. Had a lovely trip over to Tossa de Mar on the ferry, well worth the 32euro each return , very pretty and glass bottom ferry was cute and fun. NOT GREAT was the food, it was luke warm at best with no hot plates available, which might have helped. We had to arrive for breakfast at 8 on the dot and 7 pm dinner, to ensure we could eat it as wasn't completely cold. Even then it wasn't hot. Coffee is only available in the mornings not evenings which seemed very penny pinching for 4 stars. No free drinks at all that we could find in evenings apart from a tap water urn that when gone was gone and that went fast. Food was very repetitive sadly, the items being grilled changed, so nothing to look forward to. In our experience it was adequate but not enjoyable and having to arrive early was a pain as a lie in on holiday would be nice. I had thought that wine was included but I was told definitely not, Alcohol prices were reduced if you paid full board. If you are vegetarian it is very difficult I had to give in and have chicken couple of times as the offerings had no protein and was not great at all. Ice cream was available every meal and a range of cakes but they were pretty basic not what you would hope for in a 4 star. The rooms particularly bathrooms are very dated but usable and ok. Showers were old but good. We were unfortunate I think with our cleaner who basically did as little as possible. Sink was not cleaned once, or taps toilet appeared untouched, we had to ask for toilet paper. Complimentary coffee etc was never refilled. To be fair the advert said there was no kettle in the room, so we bought one and brought it with us but there was one there? Cups provided were paper/card and it seemed that the four we got on arrival was all we could have, so glad we had brought little mugs with us. I gave up and cleaned myself as she was quite unapproachable and angry looking, maybe she had a bad week IDK but it was annoying she also walked in on one occasion after a quick knock on the door without waiting for any reply, bit embarrassing actually, realised there is a sneck lock used it after that. It is right on the beach where people are having fun and entertainers are singing loudly so take earplugs if that might bother you. The entertainment we saw in the hotel was poor a DJ arrived and we turned up and sat amazed as half a dozen people sat there while he played ancient music, not what we expected at all, naturally we left as four others did. The flamenco was ok but the outfits were more primark than flamenco which did take the edge of it sorry ladies. You can attend the Grill l'avi Pere restaurant on site free in an evening which we did twice, this was better than the buffet and staff were lovely in there but there was a very small unchanging menu so wouldn't want to attend more often. We did enjoy our holiday with shops and bars close by, but changes are needed to bring the hotel up to scratch.
“Beachfront hotel”
Great friendly hotel. Clean but dated rooms, with no working UK tv channels (various other language channels work fine). Restaurant food is great and always something for most tastes. I'd recommend skipping the a la carte though, it's awful and in need of a rethink. We all left there knowing why lesser known cuts of meat (beef flank steak for example) are lesser known.. It was a very fatty and tough strip of beef, better suited to stew i.e. hours of boiling, rather than a "steak" as described (was really not good when cooked "medium", expecting a normal steak).. It's definitley worth getting a sea view room if you can. Although we probably won't be coming back, we have made the most of it...
