“Wonderfully quiet, historical location with old world charm”
The best

Fantastic location in an old, historical village. Very quiet, beautiful paths for walking and hiking. Nature is spectacular around there. Amazing bird and plant life. The house itself is a very sturdy, wonderfully old house with all modern comforts. Exceeded our expectations.

Lovely location in a beautiful village. Very attentive and welcoming staff. Easy parking. The fabulous view from our room and balcony. Very quiet location.

To be improved

It was very hot. A fan was available in the room but we could not have the door open to let in fresh air due to flies and no fly screen. The shower head needs upgrading.

Lovely old stone building overlooking the village. Fabulous views of the surrounding hills. Helpful and friendly host. Lovely rooms - full of character. Good basic breakfast.

Bit thin on local restaurants and shops. We arrived on a Sunday and needed to drive down the valley to find food.

“A very dissappointing experience”

This is a difficult one to report on because I didn’t actually stay there! I arrived at 15:30 to find the front door locked. I knocked on the door, banged on the door, rang the bell and called through the open window (through which I could hear plates clattering) but all to no avail. So I ended up booking myself into another hotel. Apparently earliest check-in was 17:00. Who’d have thought. This wasn’t explicitly stated on the pre-arrival message, which more concerned itself with all the things it didn’t offer - like no restaurant facility. This same message also failed to offer any welcome. The follow up messaging, after my aborted arrival, offered no apology. Instead an argument. I think they need to work on their customer facing skills. Anyway, to describe this as an ‘hotel’ is probably a bit of a stretch. It’s probably more like a guest house. Maybe it’s nice.
