“Great food and a very comfortable stay in a scenic spot.”

The best

The town is only 30 minutes from the A67 motorway at Aguilar de Campoo, making it a good option for a longer stopover (we stayed for 2 nights en route to Santander). The town is pleasant, with some interesting old architectural features. It is on the edge of the Natural Park of Fuentes Carriones, which has some superb scenery. There are several bars, we visited the Bar Sevillano which gives free tapas with drinks. We received a warm welcome at the hotel (it does help to have some Spanish) and they found a table for us in their restaurant, although we had not pre-booked. (The restaurant is very popular with local people, so gets very busy at lunchtime. I believe that in the evening it is just open to residents, from about 21:15). The food was excellent and their menu del dia was very good value. Our room was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom. There is a lift. It was easy to park close to the hotel. The hotel was near the river and a pleasant riverside walk.

“lovely design & location but let down by poor showers and odd breakfast.”

great location in the pretty village of Cervera de Pisuerga. Lovely design and decent sized room & bed.

The showers in both our room and our friends room were low temperature & low pressure. As we were travelling by motorcycle and had got cold & wet, we would have really liked a better shower. We paid extra for breakfast,but it was a bit weird, as it was a pre plated continental selection, with no choice. it included ham, and one of us was vegetarian!
