The best

In the center of the village you have access to a lovely garden with a large pool. Bars and Restaurants are close by. Friendly and helpful staff. They have a place to store bicycles.

“A place of silent peace protected by ageless twins”
The best

Pépé and Paco, the twin brothers who seem to have managed Hotel Poqueira II since Capileira existed, were ever so helpful sorting out a heating problem late at night. Like the 2 faces of a hand they eat, work and move softly together . “I do go out of Capileira but I quickly ache to return home, where i was born and am likely to stay”, said Pepe. Paco showed me the fine work of a Japanese painter who lived with them for 25 years. They adorn the large restaurant of the Poqueira Meson, now closed since the pandemic. An unforgettable 2-night stay.

The location was excellent, the Hotel manager was lovely and helpful. I stayed here because I was hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains and it suited my needs perfectly.

To be improved

The swimming pool was not open as it was being cleaned I believe. The Hotel did mention this before I booked, however it would have made the stay better had it been in operation.
