“Surprisingly Special and Comfortable with lovely ambience”
Location, surprisingly plush and dinner was delicious. Large room with delightful veranda.
After the great dinner, breakfast was rather meagre.
“A lovely one night stay in a beautiful quiet location.”
The location and view was perfect on the banks of the reservoir. It was in a very quiet village which was exactly what we wanted. Parking was easy and secure. Our duplex room was very spacious and was clean and tidy when we arrived. We stayed at a very quiet time, but the staff were attentive. The dining room was lovely and dinner more than adequate.
The only thing I would say is that the breakfast was limited and we would have liked to have seen some fresh fruit. This however was a minor inconvenience.
“Never again”
Not a lot. No proper reception. Same person serving in the bar, services the reception , services the dining room and probably sweeps up as well. The room was ok but it had 2 storeys of stairs to climb inside the actual room - which had a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was downstairs so nighttime relief incurred many steps and a light requirement to get there. The restaurant opened at 2030. The food was not great. We had a Vegetable stew which consisted of a large carrot in one piece and chucks of other vegetables that had no juice / sauce on them - just wet and over cooked. Half was warm and the rest cold. We left it. My goats cheese salad was good. We both had chicken with potatoes which turned out to be - three pieces of battered ( flattened ) chicken and some skinny fries . The meal looked like something for a kids menu. We have up at that point. Breakfast was on an empty dining room with 4 tables smart - on the bar was 4 bottles of water (30 cl ) 4 bottles of juice , 8 slices of bread, no cups for the coffee ( 1 got them from the kitchen which was in darkness ) . We had breakfast and then had to negotiate a taxi. The hotel was surrounded by a derelict village - the description Rural is a misnomer - think Fawlty Towers mixed with Deliverance.
All of the above and more.
“Location”
Location next to lake is fabulous. It was a shame the weather took an unexpected turn so we were not able to use the outside terrace or garden.
Pillows need to be updated
“Nice relaxing stop over and very quiet lake side village.”
We had a street view, but the views from the grounds were wonderful and we could see the snow capped peaks of the Sierra De Gredos. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant was excellent value and staff were all very attentive.
Nothing
