Hotel Santanyi Port

The room got really hot in the daytime and we found it quite hard to cool it down. The view from the bedroom was just over a road. Some of the reception staff were a little unhelpful. The water in the sink and shower tasted really super salty strangely. There's no beach that you can walk to, we didn't have a car so took the bus to a couple.

Nothing, it was all perfect.

However, there were several aspects that detracted from the overall experience. Most notably, there was limited hot water in the showers during our stay, which was disappointing. Our only hot shower was at 4:30 am the morning we checked out. There was also a strange policy regarding the minibar: guests are charged if they touch anything inside it, which meant we couldn’t even use it to store our own water. Compounding this issue, the hotel didn’t provide any tea, coffee, water, or a kettle in the room — and since the tap water wasn’t drinkable, this was quite inconvenient. When we asked if the minibar could be emptied so we could use the fridge ourselves, we received a sarcastic response where the receptionist continued to point at the sign despite us pointing out there would be no hygienic issues as house keeping would be removing the items not us. This was unfortunate and highlighted that perhaps the policy was not actually about hygiene.. This made us feel uneasy during our trip about being ‘caught out’ and charged extra despite us not doing anything wrong so we opted to not have house keeping and avoided the bar/restaurant. Additionally, the hotel required a €10 deposit for beach towels, which felt a bit out of place for a property marketing itself as a boutique experience. Overall, while there were some lovely touches, the lack of basic amenities and the unfriendly policies left us feeling a little let down.
