Hotel Sercotel Alfonso VI

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alfonso VI in Toledo, Spain. Our room was spacious and had an amazing view of the Catedral Primado. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and an amazing automatic espresso machine served up great cups of any type of café you desire. Make sure to take a glass of the fresh-squeezed orange juice; it was divine. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and some of them spoke English. The room and bathroom were very clean and appeared recently renovated. There was a great gift shop next door, and the hotel was centrally located from where we could walk to many points of interest.

Excellent location close to everything with parking right next door. Great view over the old town and the Cathedral from the balcony (we had a superior room). Comfy room, good bathroom and a nice breakfast.

First the good news. The location is very good for Toledo. However the rest leaves to be desired. The rooms are average and the beds terrible. The daytime staff does not seem to care. Note: This is a pet friendly hotel. So don't be surprised if you're awakened at 7:30 am by dogs barking. The 3.6 rating is generous. Make sure this responds to your needs if you're going to book it

Good and bad things with this hotel - Good things include the location, the brilliant reception staff with fluent English, the atmospheric breakfast room with suits of armour and general medieval stuff going on. There was a car park next door, with a 25% discount arranged by the hotel. Bad things include paying extra for a "superior" room, which although large was down in the basement, with no views and people walking past the windows, so the curtains had to remain shut. There was no wi-fi at all in the room.

Pretty cool spot in this most amazing town. The Hotel is quaint and has lots of character. I loved when the elevator doors opened on the second floor and I was in a medieval castle / dungeon. I was the tour leader of a group fo 35 and responsible for their experience with the help of the staff. Luz, our one and only server for this size group did a phenomenal job. She was so helpful and really went out of her way to make our experience the best it could be. I'd say, if you want an experience that is unique and fun, definitely stay here.

This hotel is right next to the Alhambra and has discounted public parkin next door. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were fairly basic, but comfortable. The only criticism was that the breakfast management could be better. The breakfast was generally very good, but one often had to ask for items as the trays were empty. They had more in the kitchen, but they should have monitored the amounts available for the guests before the items ran out.
