Hotel Servigroup Marina Mar

Stayed for a week at the Marina Mar and whilst it was a pleasant enough stay I wouldn’t rate the hotel a 4 star. Rooms cleaned every day, fabulous powerful shower. My room overlooked the main pool (3008). Quite large balcony areas. Plenty of sunbeds all around the main pool areas, no issues getting an available bed. Do take your own towels though as they are not provided. Some beds looked rather grubby. Food wise - well, not sure what to say. Awful time slot system, slot 1 or 2 for dinner and lunch. Slot 1 was 8.30-9.30 Slot 2 was 9.30-10.30 for dinners. Such a very small window to accommodate an entire hotel of people. I had 2 nights where I was part of a 60-70 strong queue of people waiting to go in. It was like a free for all cattle market. Horrible experience. Breakfast wasn’t so bad. Food quality was not too great, mainly at the dinner service. I do have to say though that every dish was either lukewarm or cold. Not a single hot dish all week. You do pay extra for your drinks. Friendly enough staff throughout the hotel. I will point out I did only pay £700 for the whole package holiday so I guess you may say you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap and cheerful break then this may be the hotel for you but personally I wouldn’t return. A 3 star experience I guess.

Stayed in other Servigroup hotels which were lovely so really wanted to like this one but didnt so much. Room - a little dated but clean and had all amenities. Room 317 had small balcony on a corner with partial view of sea and pool but no sun all day. Food - only had breakfast - went fairly early so no long queues but food choices quite limited and hot food was tepid at best. Pools - saltwater which was fine and one near kids waterpark was shallower so a little warmer in September - plenty beds but pool bar closed with no warning just after 1pm and was only open again 4.30pm Evening entertainment - for kids at 10pm then a Diva show for adults including music of Tina Turner etc - consisted of girls dancing to recorded music - thought it was a singer - was very poor Bar - ordered a mojito for 8.50 which was probably worst I have ever had - no mint and tasted just like apple juice. They did exchange it and the second was a bit better. Sorry this hotel should not be a 4 star and could take a few lessons from their Benidorm counterparts

No WiFi in room missed all my trips - minimal help to fix this totally ruined a long stay hated every minute of it and couldn’t work online - food wasn’t great room clean

Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms but the air conditioning could be better. The swimming pools are great but the location to bars/restaurants/shops is not great

Well where do I start!! First the good news the hotel was very clean and the staff were all delightful.now for the bad news the food was always tepid rarely ever hot. I found a microwave and managed to heat up sometimes. The restaurant sits 850 people and they all come on mass at weekends the restaurant it utter chaos with everyone pushing in for food.The noise was deafening. Smoking areas were not monitored and everyone smoked all around you. If you want a quiet break with good food holiday this is not the place for you. Never will I even think of staying here again.
