Hotel Sol Ixent - Adults Only

Hotel is a little out of the town of Cadaques on a hill with lovely views of the coastline. Our Room had a view of the pool, it was clean but a little over furnished. Comfortable Bed, good size wardrobe, fridge, safe, balcony. But a huge armchair in the room left little room for the smaller chair or luggage storage unit. I was also disappointed that a kettle wasn't provided, I had just assumed there would be. But we slept well. We got a good deal on the room as October is out of season. Its a very quiet area.

The staff at this hotel were superb. They could not do enough to help. We stayed in October, so out of season, and it was lovely and quiet, although breakfast had maybe 10 couples. The rooms were smart, with Geberit Bathroom fittings. Shower was great. the bathroom was spacious with in effect a double width top. Bed was comfy. We had a room with a sea view. The sea view was a bit 'oblique', so be prepared to not be sat on the coast. You can see the sea for sure... my only gripe was they have these lovely wooden bedside 'tables' which are part of the wall furnishings. They are low so you don't hit them which is good. However, at night if someone in a neighbouring room has their phone on vibrate, it goes through the wall....

As we love to swim early the proximity to the rugged seashore was wonderful.. the hotel is extremely clean at all times..as its adult only the pool was a very quiet area to really relax by … its a longish walk into town but a beautiful walk along the seafront where Cadaqués shimmers at dusk.. simply beautiful!

The pool area is nice but the rooms are very simple, beds are quite uncomfortable and linens and pillows cheap. Very thin walls - could hear the other guests breathing and all foot traffic in the corridor. Finally, am not sure what we did to the front desk staff but they appeared offended by our very presence from the get-go. Other than that, it was a passable if not memorable experience.

Lovely room with a sea view. Good breakfast and great pool. Within walking distance of the town centre.
