“A Hidden Oasis”

Just returned from a 4 night break at this great relaxing hotel which is situated on a small bay just a short walk from Palma Nova The hotel is an oasis of calm with beautiful gardens, terrace and pool area and it also has its own small beach with a few beach bars and restaurants for lunch The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable as is the hotel itself with very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms have free air con and free safe and I had a problem with my safe not opening on the morning of my departure but this was soon sorted out by reception. The hotel also has its own spa and large indoor pool which is free for guests and we used this every day at this time of year as the outdoor pool and sea was not warm enough to use in March, although a few people were brave enough to try There was musical entertainment every evening next to the welcoming Caprichos bar and Palma Nova is a 10 min walk away if you fancy something a bit livelier. We opted for half board and the breakfast is self service buffet style with everything you could want but on arrival we were advised there has been a recent change to the evening meal which is now a 3 course menu served to your table. I'm not sure this will be to everyone's liking as although the food was delicious the portions were quite small and the limited menu will not be to everyone's taste. You can view each evenings menu after breakfast and If you are not keen on this there are not many other options nearby so you'll need to walk into Palma Nova for more choice of restaurants All in all this is a great hotel for a short break or as a good base to explore Palma which is a short bus ride away or just 20 euro in a taxi and I wouldn't hesitate to come again for a longer holiday later in the year to experience the pool and beach area in the summer months.

“Excellent I would go back again”

The hotel is spotless large sitting areas has indoor pool and outside pool next to a small sandy beach with loungers . Staff are first class nothing a problem . Our batteries in the safe were needing replace . By the time we had breakfast they had replaced the batteries. Fantastic shower in room with a smoked glass screen with an electric blind for privacy . 👍 Buffet breakfast was excellent mass amount of high quality food you could go in and out for a walk then go back in again . 7.30 to 10.30 👍 We went half board . Evening meal has changed this year from buffet to set 3 course meal 4 choices for starters/ main meal/ sweets All very good quality that up you would expect from a 4 + star Only thing I would say it’s not for everybody who like pizzza pasta and other types of food. So Bed & breakfast my be a better option. There is evening entertainment on every night between 9 to 10.30 all very good acts just out side the dinning room area Outside There is a good size bar area with lots of seating along with loungers down toward the pool area . I would happily go back again . 👍

The hotel and grounds were beautiful, well kept, beautifully furnished and smelt like a spa throughout the reception areas

To be improved

It was a bit further than we had hoped to the evening bars and entertainment of Palma nova..we were expecting 20 minutes walk but it was further and so we got a lot of taxis, however the taxis were really reasonable so not a major issue . Had to climb into the sea down steps rather than strolling through shallow waters on the sand but again this was expected just not the ideal finishing touch of this otherwise perfect hotel

“A wonderful gem for a relaxing break”

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis, Majorca. We went off season at the end of October, the hotel was quieter but still had a lot of activities available to us. We booked one of the top rated rooms, suite with sea view, and we couldn’t have been more happy with our choice. We had a separate living room, with everything you need (fridge, coffee machine, tv etc) and a separate large bedroom. We had views out to sea and witnessed several stunning sunrises! We enjoyed the spa several times, they do have times for children to use the pool. We enjoyed the sauna, steam room and even indulged in a massage which was so professional. I have coeliac disease, getting the right food can be problematic however I am pleased to say that the staff were so accommodating every day and ensured I had food prepared separately to ensure the limitations on cross contamination. This was a little gem, hidden away from the hustle of the tourist spots, Calvia, but close enough to enjoy these areas if you wish. To end, I cannot fault the staff at this hotel. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. A special mention to Carmen, Petyia, Camilla and German Darder. Thank you to all for facilitating a restful and recuperating break.
