Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
The location is frequently praised for its exceptional views and proximity to amenities.
Guests reported kind and helpful staff.
Overall a pleasurable stay with some aspects needing improvement.
Generally good value but some aspects, like the thalassotherapy, should be included.
Some reviews mentioned the hotel is a bit old and in need of maintenance.
Breakfast was noted as being lacking.
“Good solid hotel in a fabulous spot. Pity the restaurant and swimming pool have closed.”
Zumaia, a port with a history, a fascinating old town (pueblo) and two superb beaches, was a real find and this hotel was perfectly situated in a spectacular position above the surfing beach and a very short walk from the centre, with bars and restaurants and swimming off the sea wall. The room at the back of the hotel, while visually nothing special, was comfortable, with silent air conditioning and a good bathroom. The front desk was staffed and helpful. If you want a fabulous view you can just step out on to the hotel's private terrace.
Not that we didn't like it but it was clear this hotel had seen better days. Nowadays it has neither the restaurant that travellers used to comment on so favourably, nor the swimming pool, which has been replaced by a spa and sauna. Not sure why anyone would go to Spain for a sauna.
“Great Location and Views”
This was a very strange hotel experience. When we arrived in mid-July, what you'd expect to be peak season the place felt oddly quiet, almost like it was closed. The restaurant wasn’t operating, bar was also closed and breakfast couldn’t be booked through Booking.com. However, you could still show up and pay €15 per person, which felt a bit off. That said, the front desk staff were really kind and helpful. There’s on-site parking, which is a plus, though the entrance is quite narrow but manageable with normal size cars. The absolute highlights were the location and the beautiful view from our room. It’s a shame the overall vibe didn’t match the potential of the setting.
My only real complaint is the price. For what was offered, it felt a little too expensive.
“Superb beach”
Beautiful view of the wonderful beach. Easy to get to restaurants downtown. Superb, fun, safe beach.
“I would stay again because of the location and easy access to everything.”
Beautiful location next to the beach and walking distance to several bar and restaurant.
Hotel is nice, needs some upgrades in the room but the area made up for minor issues.
“We were expecting a more enjoyable experience based on the photos but this is a solid hotel option in the city - quiet a”
Clean room. Pretty setting.
Restaurant was not available, so photos are a bit misleading. Room was small and very basic.
“Amazing location, free parking, friendly staff. · Cons: It would benefit from some information in the room such as WiFi code, spa prices and availability, tourist information.”
