“The staff is so kind and welcoming at this hotel. They were patient as we practiced our Spanish with them. They all greeted us with a smile and warm hospitality. The breakfast is good and the dinners, especially the fixed price dinner were delicious and a great value. Large rooms with comfortable chairs and bed. Frig in room was really convenient. Nice shower and bidet as well. · Cons: Had to log into Wi-Fi every time we came back to the hotel, a little annoying.”

“My go-to place to stay in Jerte”

The best

Not my first stay here. I like the location at the end of town (quiet), the building, the restaurant and the swimming pool.

To be improved

Parking is not ideal (but there's tons of free on-street parking on the main street). Towels could be thicker and the extractor fans in the bathrooms do not seem powerful enough.

“A fine Extremadura hotel in a fine mountain environment”

The best

The staff were without exception relaxed, attentive and very professional. This matches what we have seen in other Hospederías in Extremadura - the training really is excellent. Breakfast was a classic Spanish buffet and more than adequate. We also had lunch there one day, nicely prepared and good value. (In late May there are VERY few options for eating in Jerte itself). The dining area is wonderful - very large, with much glass so that you feel you are almost outside. The bed was large and excellent and our top floor room had charm. No question that we'd stay here again if travelling via Jerte.

To be improved

The swimming pool only opened on our second day - the necessary water quality report was not yet available. Lovely pool when we finally got in though! The "plaza" side of the hotel, as opposed to the "river" side, does have some local traffic, so the bedroom windows should at some point be upgraded for soundproofing. My wife is vegetarian - perhaps a few more food options for people like her could be designed?
