Hotel Vilar Riu de Baix

Very unpleasant reception staff, especially Mr. who received us Uncommunicative and very cold. Not so the rest of the staff, both restoration and cleaning, good professionals.

There's gonna be 3 parts here: 1. The intendant. I arrived by bike at 3pm (as communicated before arrival) and no one was there. So I had to call a lady for her to inform the intendant to come. The guy arrives, barely says hi, opens the doors, sees that I'm with my bike and doesn't even look at me in order to help and goes to sit at the desk. He then does the check-in in the most minimalist way and doesn't show me to my room or try to help with anything. Remember we are talking about a 4 star hotel... And at checkout, same stuff, doesn't ask how my stay went, and didn't even look at me when I gave him room for his car on the road with my bike... Either in a massive depression, or a giant prick. 2. The hotel itself. If you are looking for calm and peace, this is the right place, as the hotel is 1,5km away from the village. As I came during the winter, the hotel restaurant was closed which left me with the option of going to town to eat somewhere and come back at night with little light on the road, or go to the supermarket in the afternoon grab something for dinner, with a microwave as only consolation in the hotel. Furthermore, as everything is closed during the winter, the spa was closed too, and the pool as well, this was a bummer. 3. The equipment. The room was nice and tidy but things could have easily been better. There was only 1 towel for the shower (the 2 star hotel I just left had 2), the minibar was ridiculously empty (and made a lots of noise during the night), and the bed sheet surrounding the bed frame had stains that didn't go away from washing them it seems.
