Hotel Villa Emilia

During check in the receptionist wasn't helpful she insisted to show her the physical card that I did the payment with and I wasn't hold it by this time she made me refund the money and pay again which cause me to pay 40 £more because this unnecessary action. she didn't send an email earlier mentioning that I have to bring the card with me during check in, they sent an email two days before my trip that I have to check in online and i did it and they didn't mention anything.I made reservation through their official website. also they mentioned on the website the room will have some essentials we didn't find we had to ask about different things like slippers, shower cap, ironing. The breakfast options were a few, don't choose breakfast option with the hotel.

We have just returned from Villa Emilia and were so impressed. We travelled as a family of 3 and booked a standard room. We arrived on Easter Sunday to find we had received a complimentary upgrade to a premium room (thank you very much) and even received cute little gourmet easter eggs! The room was spacious and had a huge bed for us and a very comfy sofa bed for our son. It was beautiful and immaculately clean as was the bathroom which had really nice products we could use. The room was fully cleaned/made up and towels replaced daily. The hotel boasts a rooftop terrace which is a lovely addition. You have to take drinks up which is no hardship and has has plenty sun umbrellas if you want some shelter or you can enjoy the sun. The location is perfect. Two minutes to Rocafort metro station and within walking distance (15-20 mins) to La Ramblas. We found we could access everywhere we wanted to go without difficulty. We hadn't included breakfast so were concerned about where we would eat but there are 2 bakery/cafes within a minutes walk which were perfect for us. The whole hotel is beautiful - tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and smells amazing wherever you are within the building. We didnt have much dealings with the staff but the ones we did encounter were very friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

2nd stay at Villa Emilia and wouldnt stay anywhere else in Barcelona! Central location 100 yards from Metro station on a quiet side street is super convenient. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable and unfussy. Decor is stylish and functional. Staff are attentive and kind. Food home cooked, tasty and generous. Lovely breakfast. Feels like a family. Beautiful room and location. Very quiet at night for sleeping, Location is easy walk ( about 10 minutes) to stop 10 ( Plaça d’Espanya)on the Hop on Hop off bus (this one, ttps://www.barcelonabusturistic.cat/en as there are 2 different companies) and Arenas de Barcelona ( former bull ring now shopping, restaurants and views othe area,) also loated in Plaça d’Espanya. There are a variety of cafes in the area as well. The roof top terrace is comfortable and beautiful views.What I can't recommend is the breakfast, it was okay, but the staff is overly anxious to assist even though it is a continental buffett, they appear to always be watching you., and the food is okay, for a big price. Additionally the seating is not comfort for eating as the chair/table height is not conducive. Front desk staff is friendly and always willing to assist with directions, ordering taxis, etc. This hotel is not in the tourist area, so a taxi, car or the hop on hop off is necessary, but to us it was well worth it, for the quietness, cleanliness and comfort of the room. I would stay again, but probably skip the breakfast for a local cafe.

Charming hotel, but very poor: (10-day stay) The shower tray is dangerous; it's slippery with the water as if you were on a ski slope. Furthermore, in one part, the edge of the tray is poorly finished and cuts like a knife. On the first day, I slipped, and I'm not clumsy nor do I have any mobility difficulties. I suffered a cut on the sole of my foot and on my heel, which forced me to go to the Barcelona Public Assistance Center for treatment and an injection.
