Good amenities but some complaints regarding the breakfast quality.
“Highly recommended”
Really lovely relaxing hotel. Fantastic location. We will definitely be returning.
“Another fabulous Menorcan break.”
Our second visit to this wonderful gem. Set close to the beach and the bus stop round the corner, it's an ideal location. The atmosphere at the Xaloc Playa is always so welcoming and friendly. The staff work tirelessly to ensure our stay is so enjoyable. It is like meeting up with friends again. Delicious food and plenty of it. Rooms cleaned daily. Rooms are also a decent size, with balcony. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool. Singers some evenings after dinner. All very good. Not a big hotel, smaller, friendlier and with a personal touch. Also really good value. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful place which holds a special place in our hearts.
“Quiet relaxing week”
We arrived at lunchtime and the lady on reception was very welcoming and we were soon checked in and unpacking our bags. We had a room towards the rear of the hotel overlooking the garden , crazy golf and pool. You could see the sun rising in the morning. Steep steps to the top floor , no lifts at this part of the hotel. Room was comfortable with a large bathroom and shower. My only complaint was the bed was on wheels and moved across the room when you sat up to read , as the floor is tiled . A few beer mats helped to solve the problem . The food in restaurant was buffet style and very enjoyable with a good choice . Staff helpful and kept on top of cleaning tables. Pool bar very reasonable prices for food and drink. Three nights of entertainment while we were there , a trio , a duo with flamenco dancer and a solo artist. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. A clean beach with soft sand just across the road, lifeguards on duty also . Would definitely return in the future
“Great Value”
Staying here very close to the end of season Would love to give it a five, just two minor gripes though The lack of double beds available Some married couples might like two single beds pushed together, we don't If you're two singles sharing, then the single beds will be very close! Our room has a lovely view of the pool with the sea behind, would have been great to have a coffee in the evening or morning when we got up, no kettle That's the gripes, can I score 4.5 which it deserves The staff are polite, friendly and helpful Though the interior is dated, it's been spotless, no fault at all The food is what you would expect from a Spanish 3 star hotel. All perfectly edible, don't expect exceptional cuisine, just pleasant and reasonably tasty food, and a good selection of choice Would comfortably recommend staying after August
“Great location let down by catering service”
Rooms as described. Gave us a quiet room with a fridge as requested in advance. Fridge was E7 per day in 2025, a bit expensive but kept our milk, water and soft drinks chilled. We brought our own travel kettle as none in the room. Room very well cleaned daily. Fantastic location, very short walk to a sandy beach. A few restaurants and supermarkets along the sea front. Small quiet resort, which is what we were after. Prepaid for a private taxi transfer, well worth it as only a short journey. We could pay for everything by card, cash required for bus and taxi. Grounds very well kept. Nice pool but we found the sea warmer. Stock of parasols for the beach free to borrow at bottom of stairs in block by pool. Live music approx 3 times per week. Some rooms over or adjacent to the stage area, so if live music not your thing, ask for a room well away from the bar. We had a minor issue that we needed help with and reception dealt with if very efficiently and quickly. Food was buffet style. Adequate but not great. Table clearing service hit and miss, seemed understaffed. Not all food labled so a bit of guess work required. Constant queue for coffee machine, obvious need for one more. The 2 toasting machines take ages to toast. Signs saying not to take fruit of bread items out of dining room, but numerous people doing so each morning and not challenged by staff. I'm not vegetarian but the vegetarian options were limited and did not look appetising. Did get an email requesting feed back 48hrs after arrival. No acknowledgement of our reply and no evidance of any action taken. There is a sign at reception encouraging trip advisor reviews, unfortunately they don't seem to act on similiar comments from other guests before our visit. We had a great week here but would we go back or recommend to a friend, because of the average catering service, no.
“Chilled short break”
Just back from a 3 night / 4 day break and can't really fault the hotel or resort. Booked punta prima as wanted very quick transfer given it was a short break. Didn't pay for private transfer but dropped lucky - just me and my daughter, both ways. First and foremost all the staff were super friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome. It is also very clean. We were allocated a room in the rear block. Positives of the room were great air-conditioning, large bathroom / good shower, plenty of storage, clean and no noise at night. The pool offers lots of shade as set in lush gardens, this was much needed in August. Plenty of loungers, lovely pool, pool bar with drinks / snacks. Also free mini golf, and pool tables. Friday night a female singer performed and was very entertaining and well received. Food was really good - always plenty of hot options, salads, desserts, etc. Well presented and replenished, with AC indoor seating or Al fresco, and again fab waiting staff. Excellent breakfast too - for a 3* the food was great. PP is small and flat. 100m from the hotel door is the beach and first of several restaurants and supermarkets. The beach has loungers, is kept clean, has amenities and SUP / kayak rental. Xaloc also lend parasols for you to use if you don't want to rent loungers. The whole resort has a chilled and relaxed vibe. A few well priced bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a pharmacy. Also a night market on a couple of evenings. The mintrain runs to Binibeca, which is pretty and worth visiting for half a day. Didn't visit Mahon as been previously and it was very hot, but there's a regular bus service and taxi rank. Overall this is a great 3* hotel with superb staff. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, but especially for short breaks or those requiring a flat, accessible resort. Would return.
