Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey

After a small obstacle because we had not booked a table in advance, everything worked out really well. Great service, lovely food.

Great experience, great (heated) outdoor pool, best restaurants in town, atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Carlos at the Los Laureles Restaurant was very nice, friendly and attentive. Kenier (lifeguard at the pool) was also very attentive, friendly and welcoming, while also always keeping the space tidy and clean. Service throughout the hotel has been outstanding and has been super convenient that the hotel has several restaurants within its grounds. Room was nice and tidy. Some small details could be slightly upgraded in the furniture/fixtures as there are some small dents and other signs of age, but the raw materials are of exceptional quality and the design/architecture and decor are very welcoming. The design of the hotel inside with the mix of green/nature, modern concrete and natural wood is very gorgeous and impressive. The other guests were also chilled and very respectful (including at the pool!). Every morning the room was cleaned and made super tidy to very high standards by the staff. We requested also to change one of our pillows and they offered us a range of different pillows to try directly in our room. Overall had been really great, relaxing and friendly throughout.

Booked through jet2 for a luxury family holiday. Was very disappointed overall and actually left the hotel 4 days early. On arrival we had no help with our luggage or guidance of any sort. Checked into outer rooms which were extremely basic and small and no views of anything and balcony’s just had 2 small chairs on them. This is honestly not a holiday location but a city break location. We then went for food in the pool restaurant..was ignored for 10 mins standing at the around so we sat ourselves down at a table then straight away told to move. The service was extremely slow and staff very rude. Constantly trying to get their attention just to order drinks and ask for menus. The food finally arrived and was good but the experience was bad. Later that night went for drinks at hotel bar..once again after 15 mins got up and got the waiter’s attention..took our order then we waited another 15 mins for the drinks. Ordered another drink and they totally forgot it and we had to go chase it up 20 mins later..no apology or anything just an abrupt response. Went to bed Next morning went for breakfast..service was good but overall the food was really bad and choice for a 5 star hotel was disappointing. Decided to check out after breakfast 4 days early and the overall experience was appalling.

We had the most wonderful stay at Iberostar Grand Mencey. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, elegant, spotless, and full of charm. The atmosphere is both luxurious and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single team member was warm, professional, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy. A very special mention goes to Klaudia, who was simply fantastic. She made us feel so welcome from day one and genuinely looked after us throughout our stay. Her kindness, attention to detail, and friendly personality really stood out and made our experience even more memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone at the Iberostar Grand Mencey for such a special experience!

No amenities in the rather small room. Never seen that in a 5-star hotel. Noise coming from the street and from the room next door. The room (with a distant view to the see) is small and very standard. No coffee machine. No bottle of water in the room (fountain is quite far from the room and seem to have only one per floor). Overall highly disappointing even more as the hotel is located in a beautiful building with a lot of potential

Though we came to really like this hotel, first impressions were not good. There was no place to stop in front of the hotel and offload our bags, it was blocked by a small bus and the hotel didn't do anything about it. We were told to park in the garage next to the hotel, but no information about where to park or that there was direct access to the hotel from it, we found that out later. Coming in to the hotel, the reception was crowded and we had to wait a long time to check in. The lady in the reception spent a lot of time trying to persuade us to upgrade and to buy the set menu in the restaurant, which wasn't very nice. We asked about restaurants but were only told about that one and the bar. We later found there were several other options. The hotel is gigantic, and it took ages to walk to the room - again, no directions whatsoever, and we found later there was a shorter route we could take. All the said, we found that apart from the reception, staff in the hotel were fantastic. They were fast and courteous. The hotel was full, and we were really impressed by how quick the service was throughout - at the restaurant, the bar, the pool - despite the large work load. The premises are really beautiful, and rooms are nice. We had booked a garden view room and it was very quiet. We would recommend it - but would also recommend management to retrain the reception staff.
