Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Incredible work ethic from the staff, very helpful and friendly.
Nicely situated on the promenade, great for walks and access to local restaurants.
High quality food, impressive allergen labeling, and appreciated local produce.
Overall a very enjoyable stay with minor issues, would consider returning.
Good setup with pools and outdoor areas, though some areas are outdated.
Generally, a good experience for the price, although some charges seemed unfair.
“Staying at the Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa hotel was a great choice for our family trip”
It was our first visit to Tenerife. It was really a great family vacation and we enjoyed everything Tenerife has to offer. Booking and staying at the Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa hotel was a great choice for us. It is a huge hotel with a huge capacity, but it is also very spacious, and we never felt the crowdines. All the hotel staff members where kind, polite and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, really a good choice of different meals. The pool area was also good and our kid loved the water slides :)
“Good hotel bad rooms”
Reception staff - good easy check in and out. Thank you Pepe. Hotel - very big (looks like one of the biggest in the area) there are lifts to get you from floor to floor, but there is quite a lot of walking from place to place. This is big old hotel, very well established and seems to have a number of repeat loyal guests. Bar/Cleaning/Entertainment Restaurant staff -10/10 The facilities and public spaces are well maintained 9/10. Lots of spots dotted about to relax/read/play games etc. Hotel corridors 3/10 desperately need refurbishment, dirty looking carpet tiles, damaged skirting boards, paint coming off.(let the hotle down ...look like a run down 3 star hotel) Bedroom condition 2/10 Like an old poor 3 star hotel. Not what you would expect when you pay for a 4 star experience. Scuffed floor, paint scuffed, peeling laminate of the units and skirting boards. We wondered of we had been given a bed room but when I expressed my concerns I was offered 2 other rooms but they were equally as rough and indeed of repair. The condition of our room didn't reflect the 4 star price we paid. I spoke with guest relations about my disappointment in the room/corridor and that I believe we had been miss sold and overcharged. I felt I had booked and paid for a 4 star holiday experience but the room would only be a low level 3 star. Managment offered us to change hotel but as we were only there for a few nights it wouldn't have been worth the hassle with a 60+year mother. The next day I was offered some sort of upgrade for the next visit or an upgrade of half-board to full board on the next visit. I don't feel this is an adequate solution as I wouldn't want to spend more money on this hotel in the future I am awaiting a reply from management regarding some sort of partial reimbursement for quality of the room. With a company like Iberostar you would expect much better quality. Beds/mattress ok 7/10 Bedding 5/10 OK - reported some holes in the bed sheet and this wasn't changed. Soundproofing-5/10, we could hear some noise from the bars on the street until around midnight. We were on the roadside too, so some road traffic too. There was no noise from other residents but we had a evening before dinner of around 3 hours of drilling and hammering from a nearby room. Blackout curtains 6/10 Shower 10/10 - amazing hot water all day, big shower with body wash shampoo and conditioner. Room towels 2/10 On 2 occasions our towels had holes in them...a bit rough and old looking. I reported this one day to reception and was given a new towel with 2 holes in the next day. Water filling stations - very good/ one on each bedroom floor. Nice glass jug in your room so you could always have access to water in your room. 10/10 The dining room is vast and can get busy at peak times, but the staff work hard to seat you quickly. Nicely decorated, option to sit outside. Food: 8/10 good buffet style food, lots of choice, and some vegan/gluten free options signposted. All inclusive snack 10/10 bar open from 11-6pm with a good range of snacks if you want a late breakfast/brunch or you don't want to go to the main dining room. Gym- 8/10 spacious and pretty well equipped and maintained. Dumbbells up to around 30kg/Smith Machine/Olympic barbells/ usual cardio machines. Fitness activities 10/10 - lovely lads Victor and Yordan led us in Yoga/pilates/aqua areorbics. Victor seems to be very experienced in Yoga👍 All inclusive drinks- self service avaliable on wine and beer/water/tea/coffee and fizzy drinks. Also most drinks were a included at the bar. The bar staff were excellent, kind, friendly, and efficient. Lovely bowls of nuts and crisps avaliable for free at the bar...Nice touch. 10/10 Entertainment day time included archery, bingo, bowls style games -staff enthusiastic and fun After dinner Entertainment - mixture of quality - some evenings the live music was really good and others it was less impressive. We also went to a Queen Tribute Act which was 3/10 and a Flamenco Show which was 10/10 amazing! 20 min away from the airport in a taxi. About a 10 min walk down some steps to the dark sand beach -nice little bay. (Can get out of the hotel through a side gate near the pool) Beach towels for hire. 20€ per towel refunded on departure. 10/10 -2 good-sized pools one more for kids. Can swim laps. Lots of sunbeds and umberellas. Well spaced out. Great view of the sea from the top pool... probably the nicest part of the hotel. Surrounds by bars, shops, and restaurants. Good location 10/10 Good hotel let down by the quality of their corridors and rooms.
“Nice hotel but very cramped”
Lovely hotel. Walked past it on various trips to Tenerife and was amazed at the sheer size being able to see what was going on inside. On arrival we were given a complimentary glass of fizz, lovely touch. Booked a double room partial side sea view. Room was quite small but was fine and cleaned daily. Nice size balcony aswell. Lifts took ages to arrive but that’s down to the sheer size of the hotel, floors and volume of guests. Food was nice in the restaurant. Breakfast was really nice. Pool area. Now, we tended to go by the pool facing the sea but we were all literally packed in like sardines. Pool was heated which was a bonus. Location wise it’s perfect as it’s right next door to Adeje and a downhill walk into PDLA. Bonus was the lovely chill out bar called Life across the road.
“Great stay!”
We had a lovely stay at Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa in Tenerife. The staff were welcoming, attentive and made us feel very well looked after throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard, and staying on a Star Prestige basis made the experience feel even more special. There was also a great variety of food each day with plenty of choice. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable holiday — we would happily return.
“Wouldn’t stay again”
We stayed here with our 2 kids and my parents and to say disappointed for the price of this place. Everything is extra price from kettle to iron charge charge The food is ok entertainment not great and all over place have go downstairs kids then up stairs for other but all wasn’t great to be honest. My daughter left teddy behind in dinning room and within half hour we noticed and went back for it but they had given it to another person so had very upset little girl. They gave her colouring items and games but all she wanted was her teddy. My son also got very ill here and I explained to them that I thought it was chicken from pool bar and when we arrived home we had go hospital which they confirmed it would have been from food or water abroad. Sent email and hotel denied anything. Would not be back or recommend to anybody.
“My 60th birthday break”
We have just returned back from a 4 day break, on arriving we stored our luggage in the luggage room but accidentally left my travel wallet , passports , money etc , which on finding it 100 euros was stolen so just be vigilant not sure if they had cameras in there, found the male evening early morning staff rude, we were paying our drinks bill daily rather than the end of our stay he constantly mentioned why don’t you pay at the end of your stay, we are the guest and it’s our preference, he was put out by it no doubts to much screen work for him, apart from these issues the room location and breakfast was lovely and the cleaning staff are brilliant the standards are 100% and thank you for my birthday bubbly and cakes for my 60th a nice touch
