“Convenient Stay Within Walking Distance of Major Attractions”
We stayed in Room 508, which faces the street, and it wasn’t noisy at all despite what some reviews mention. This may be because the room was on a higher floor. The room itself was spacious, although the bed felt a bit small for my tall partner. There’s no complimentary drinking water, but the mini fridge is stocked with drinks available for purchase. Free toiletries are provided. Rooms are cleaned daily, though we chose to opt out on some days to be more environmentally friendly. A tourist tax is required and can be paid either at check-in or before check-out. The highlight of this hotel is its excellent location. It’s about a 5-minute walk to Arc de Triomf and under 15 minutes to the Sagrada Família. Many attractions are easily walkable—we walked to the beach, La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and even from Plaça d’Espanya. The staff were friendly and polite. We didn’t need much assistance during our stay, as everything went smoothly without any issues. Overall, this is a solid hotel choice. If you’re looking for a convenient place to stay with great walkability to major attractions, this hotel is definitely worth considering
“Good stay great location and fully satisfied but place is outdated somewhat.”
It looks better on the pictures but the whole place isn't bad. We loved the location but the hotel could use some updating. It also shouldn't advertise a gym because it's abysmal.
Gym, room somewhat outdated
“Good 3 star hotel”
Good quality 3 star hotel. Clean, staff helpful. People have said the mattress was hard. We luckily didn’t find that. Everything you need for a stay in Barcelona.
“Definitely recommend!”
Had a great 2 night stay at Ilunion Auditori. The staff are all extremely helpful and the hotel itself is situated very centrally, a 10-20 min walk from most places, and 30 mins by car from the airport! The rooms are small but big enough for 2 people and the bathroom was a great size too. There was a few issues with street noise but it wasn't extremely annoying! The breakfast was okay, the selection was limited but we still enjoyed it. Overall I would stay here again and recommend to anyone coming to BCN for a few days!
“Come for the price, stay because your spine has fused to the mattress.”
Didn’t think I’d be writing a review before my 5 nights were even over, but when inspiration strikes (or you are unable to comfortably sleep), you grab the keyboard. Booked a double bed room facing the indoor court — sounds peaceful and restful, right? Let’s unpack this stay like an overstuffed suitcase: ⭐️ THE PROS (aka, things that briefly gave me hope): • INTERIOR-facing rooms are basically soundproof from the outside world. Inside? Well, you’ll still hear some random doors slamming like castanets in a flamenco show. • The room and bathroom are actually decent-sized for Barcelona standards. You CAN turn around without accidentally brushing your teeth at the same time. • AC worked beautifully. No Mediterranean sweat sessions here. • Curtains blocked out light like they owe Dracula money. • Staff were polite and helpful — they’re doing their best, bless them. • Wallet-friendly compared to nearby hotels. Always a win. • There’s a tea kettle! Comes with 2 teas and instant coffee — so you can pretend you’re classy and caffeinated. • Mini fridge included. Can’t confirm if it works — we didn’t dare challenge it. • They’ll hold your luggage after checkout, which is a lifesaver when your flight’s later and you still want to explore (or cry about the mattress somewhere else). 💀 THE CONS (aka, where the comedy turns tragic): • The Bed of Pain. Words fail. The mattress is SO stiff I’m convinced it’s training to be a cutting board. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to sleep on principle, this is your chance. Side sleepers, beware. If you have curves, joints, or bones, may the odds be ever in your favor. • The Pillows of Betrayal. Four identical flat "pillows" that feel like someone folded an old beach towel and called it luxury. You’ll find yourself reminiscing about your home pillow — even that lumpy one you used to hate. True heartbreak and possibly headache. • “Clean” but "vintage clean" The hotel looks clean, but you can tell it’s seen some things. Bathroom grout? Vintage. Mildew and water stains? Abstract art. Scuff marks on the floor? The ghosts of guests past. • Zero tissues. Not one. Bring your own or get cozy with toilet paper — it’s character building. • The Shampoo Situation. The bathroom amenities include 2-in-1 "shampoo/body wash"(which doubles as a hand soap as well) that’s clearly a “one size fits none” situation. Conditioner? Dream on. And they might not refill it when it runs out during your stay, so you’ll be left lathering in despair by night three. ⭐⭐ FINAL VERDICT: If you’re on a budget, love quiet rooms (least facing the inside court), and have the spinal flexibility of a steel beam, this place might just work. Easily Top 3 Most Uncomfortable Mattresses in my global suffering log. Think “wooden plank meets concrete chic.” If you like sleeping on something with all the give of a kitchen counter, congratulations — this one’s for you. Otherwise, come for one night, take a selfie for the “I survived” club, and move on.
“I was very impressed.”
Reception staff very helpful. Room was twin as expected. It had an outlook at the front as I had requested in my message to the Hotel. The room was cleaned and made up perfectly each day we stayed. I used the pool and my son used the gym. We had breakfast on the last day and it was very good, it was run very well, everything was available. All staff great.
Shower head in bathroom needs fixing as water spurted out upwards and in every direction. Needs another long seat for luggage to lifted up or to be accessed, in the space against the wall.
