Ilunion Hacienda de Mijas

Booked this on a spur of the moment after the exterior and price caught my eye, we were aware transport would be needed as not much to do in the immediate area which suited us fine, we checked in a little earlier than expected and only realised after I had been charged €15 for this,the pool was gated off and we was told it may be open in a week or 2 (this was the 13th of April) disappointing but we could book the indoor pool,sauna etc for €10 per person per hour (!?) room was decent size with a balcony and great views (note only 3 rooms in the whole hotel have a balcony) curtains were a little grubby,shower leaked a bit and the wooden floor was chipped but beds were clean and comfy. Air con did not work at all, 28° in the day and 26° at night it became unbearable, we asked if something could be done repeatedly (we became very tired and grouchy mid week) nothing ever was, we were told to leave the window open but this didn't help with hotel guest noise, mosquito bites and early bin collections keeping you up, we had breakfast and evening meal which was basic but a decent selection,food was very plain and bland (assuming some ppl may have allergies?) but edible. The parking out front and in the car park opposite is a free for all,don't worry about the 'no parking ' signs as no one else did. Morning staff seemed annoyed and unapproachable but the evening staff were a little more chatty and friendly. Overall the advertisement of this hotel is very misleading, we never saw any evening entertainment,pool was still closed when we left on the 18th of April,air con was never on and they charge your card without telling you,beware

Ok, so here I go .. After stopping a week in this Hotel in April I needed to share my views so other people don't get mistaken or get there expectations to high..... Overall the Hotel for us was in the right location, away from the busy down town & we was here to explore south Spain on a motorcycle, so location was perfect. You would need transportation to get about if you need to go anywhere. We stopped half board to save us time & money but the food was ,,,,,,, ok?? It was cooked but very bland ( you get what you pay for. Now the staff, some was pleasant happy & talkative & some was very rude, well there's no hello or smiles & not helpful in the slightest. The rooms & interior are ok. Could do with a spruce up to be honest, beds were clean & comfortable but this is where it got really BAD.... the hotel control when they deem fit to switch on the air conditioning & apparently when it's 28 degrees in the day & 26 degrees at night it's not warm enough to have on... We didn't sleep properly for the entire week it was way too hot (see pics) We explained this at the reception 3-4 times & get mixed / different answers or excuses.. . It's not warm enough.. it's not switched on, it's broken, we will look into it, sorry but that's the way it's is, try opening the window or door at night. So we did open the windows & door & we got bit by the mozzies all over & not only that there were nights where people would be drinking & talking in the grounds till late & you could hear everything as well as dogs barking that people apparently just tie up when they go in the restaurant at night. ( Had to call reception) So overall it's a nice place but not a place you need to go to have a relaxing Holiday!!!!!!!! There are others issues but they are nothing compared to the heat in the rooms at night... Absolutely bang out of order!!!!!!! We was shattered for the whole entire holiday & they didn't try to change or make things better....... We heard after that apparently they only turn on the aircon & open the pool when they think the season starts to get busy... But the hotel was full & we spoke to a few hotel guests & they too was angry about the temperature in the rooms & the pool being closed...... Shame because turning on the air conditioning would of made a whole entire difference for a lot of people not just us. . Shocking!!!!!!!

Stayed two nights in January 2026. Spacious room, lovely views, comfortable bed but pillows were too soft, so replacing these would improve the experience for guests. Had a very nice buffet evening meal in the restaurant on arrival. There is a delightful outside terrace for drinks in the evening as well. Staff were polite and helpful. Free parking easy, as it is right outside. Bathroom clean. Our shower was usable but broken, which we informed reception about as we checked out. Overall, can recommend this hotel. It is a peaceful location, reasonably priced and very close to Mijas. So we will definitely return.

It was clean, and nice looking hotel Reception staff were kind and helpful.

Great hotel. Lovely pool, beautiful views across the coast. Clean room and comfortable bed. The outside courtyard and bar was relaxed. There was a singer for entertainment and that created a lovely atmosphere. Short bus to town (Mijas or coast)-bus stop right outside hotel (cheap too- 3 tickets about €4). Mijas is a stunning town.

Breakfast was okay but the hot breakfast food was always just warm. Staff were always nice and friendly and location was good
