“Great location, convenient for airport access”

The best

The property is about 12 minutes away from the metro (Nuevos Ministerios), really useful if you are travelling to or from the airport. There are many shops and restaurants in the area, and the neighbourhood is very safe. The room is well furnished, with all the amenities you could need for a short stay. The common room (which has a hob, dishwasher, washing machine etc) is also well furnished. There is in-room AC which is powerful but quiet, really helpful on when we stayed there (the outside temp was 39C). The airport is also easy to reach by car (middle of the night taxi took us to the airport in about 15 mins).

To be improved

The only thing that we really did not like was the soundproofing of the room. The property is generally a large flat which was converted to single-use rooms with en-suites, with plasterboard partitions between rooms. You could easily hear people speaking on the phone in the room next to ours, which makes it very difficult to sleep at times. It would've been really great if a bit more would have been spent on noise insulation.

“Madrid stay near Neuvos Ministeros”

The best

Room was very clean, spacious, well located in a really nice neighbourhood and close to transport, shops and restaurants. The host was always responsive and getting in was easy using codes. Room had a mini fridge, desk and a very good rain shower. There was a well equipped kitchen for heating and eating food if you wish and there was even free water. We will definitely recommend and we will consider staying there ourselves in the future. There are even luggage storage facilities round the corner which the host can organise at a minimal cost.

To be improved

The bed, whilst very comfortable for my bad back, could have been a bit bigger.

“Excellent location, love the neighborhood · Cons: The bed was kind of small, there is no window at the bathroom and there wasn’t an exhaust fan so the air of the bathroom didn’t circulate much. The air conditioning is set to turn off every 4 hours, but we had problem with the air conditioning at the first night because it instead of turning off every four hours it was turning off every 10 minutes, on the other day after contacting the administration they sent a technical to fix it for us promptly.”

“Be clear about what this place is and is not. I wasn't. I went with the high score and low price and didn't really investigate. That's on me. It's basically a very nice hostel with private baths. The rooms are situated in part of a floor of a residential building. There is a common kitchen area that no one seemed to be using. It was well equipped and had a water cooler. Our room was like a dorm room with a window on a small air shaft. It was ok but no charm. The bed was comfy and the shower was very good. The main annoyance is that the AC is on a 4 hour timer. Madrid was 100 degrees during our two night stay. It meant coming back to a warm room and getting up in the middle of the night to reset it. Overall, it was ok but next time I'll spend more and stay in a real hotel. · Cons: Having to reset the AC in the middle of the night and every time we came back to the room. It's on a 4 hour timer and it was 100 degrees during our stay.”
