To be improved

Although we had a phone number in case of any issues, we have never stayed anywhere without a 24 hour reception. Having codes to let yourself in and out made us feel a little vulnerable, especially at night.

Location was superb. Very central. Room was very clean and comfortable and large with a great bathroom. Lady on reception was very friendly and helpful giving me tips for places to visit and where to get on /off bus etc.

To be improved

I stayed on the 2nd floor and arrived very late at night, so there was no one around and the lift didnt work. I had to haul my suitcase up 2 flight of stairs. Apparently if other users dont close the lift doors properly it doesnt work for anyone else. Its old! But when it did work it was great. No plugs for the bathroom sink....this seems to be a common problem in many places. Its small detail but would have been so helpful when washing out some clothing. There was no way to open windows and i was hoping there might be a kettle or means of making tea/coffee, but bottled water was provided.

Location is GREAT - super central & easy to walk to old town and most major attractions. The reception team were great - super helpful with lots of tips for our time there! Room was huge and felt clean/comfortable. Really quiet at night. Also had a little balcony which was nice. There is no minibar but there is a communal one to use if you need in a common area.

To be improved

The AC dripped after a while when on so we had to keep turning it on and off.

The best

It’s perfectly located, with easy access to three different subway entrances. Room 7 was spacious, filled with natural light, and had a beautiful terrace—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. The common areas were nicely decorated and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed. They also kindly allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out, as we had a late flight. We highly recommend this location, and it ia our 3rd time in Barcelona!

“Lovely and thoughtful people and a perfect position in the centre of the city.”

The Izaila is a small hotel in a position that is perfect for exploring Barcelona. Ainhoa greeted us so warmly and was extremely helpful giving us advice and assistance for our visit. As if that wasn’t enough she then went even further to contact us when there may have been a slight problem with transport on a particular trip with advice as we may avoid the problem. We were also offered use of our room for longer than usual to permit us to change for our evening flight on our departure day. All in all a very comfortable, service oriented hotel in a great position. A wonderful stay and experience for us.
