“Fantastic stay in sunny Santander”

The best

Fantastic apartment with lovely chic furniture. Two large bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space and a great shower. Added bonus was the lovely balcony with views of the city (a good wine spot in the evening before heading out). Location was very central and a short five minute walk through the tunnel to the autobus station. Apartment was great value for money and the host was very pleasant and helpful.

To be improved

No didn't likes really - accomodation was great.

The location is excellent: on the main street; right in front of the entrance there is a paid parking lot, a public transport sto.

48 hours in advance, we notified the host about the time of our arrival. 20 minutes before arriving, we called the specified phone to find out who to expect, but we received an answer that it is not yet known?! After 20 minutes. waiting in front of the entrance of the building, we accidentally tried to talk to a woman (who didn't know a word of English) accompanied by a little boy, if she knew where the apartment we rented was located. After a lot of Spanish words and waving hands, we realized that she was expecting people, but with other names?! Finally, we got into the apartment, which turned out to be unclean and messy, and again with handshakes we agreed to come back in an hour, and we were with our 6-month-old grandson. After 1.5 hours we came back and the apartment was not completely ready again, we had to wait inside for the woman to finish. Then the other "surprises" began: the freezer door was half closed, and its interior looked like an ice cave - I had to knock with a knife and remove a large amount of ice, just so I could close the door. Sheets were placed on the beds, which we initially thought were used, but we found that they were simply taken directly from the dryer and placed. The floors and windows were not cleaned, there were table lamps that were broken, half the lighting in the living room flickered and irritated the eyes, so we did not use it during our entire stay. There is no oven. The dining table is glass, but there is no tablecloth or cleaning agent that to be used. There are traces of leaks in both bedrooms (the apartment is in the attic) and it smells extremely stale and damp - we had to sleep with the doors open during the entire stay! The feeling was extremely uncomfortable, like an unmaintained place! It almost destroyed the charm of Santander! I do not recommend a stay!
