I think the dinner was not meet the 4 star hotels quality. In the bathroom you should prepare more toiletries (cleaning pads, comb, mini conditioner) to provide the 4 star level.

For a 4 star hotel I would expect better quality towels, pillows and bedding.

The food was very poor quality, over cooked. Starters were so tiny, eg the size of dish not much bigger than an egg cup, holding one and a half prawns after they had put a lettuce leaf into it. All hot food was baked up and mostly un edible. The salad station was continually running out, and the staff had to be asked to replenish. The opening hours of the restaurant, morning 8.00 to 10.30, one morning we arrived at 10.10. The looks we had were shocking, because they had started to clear everything away, even though the restaurant was still supposed to be serving for another 20 minutes. We had to ask them to bring some food out again, they wasn’t pleased. Because of this when we went to the restaurant on the evening midway through service, we had to get our own cutlery, napkins and salt and pepper. They didn’t even ask us what we would like to drink, totally ignored. Very unprofessional. We were there for 2 weeks and were still being addressed in the German language. The pool was on the roof as part of the cocktail bar, and was only a plunge pool, not a swimming pool. Booking.com should make it clear to future customers who want to go there, that the hotel is mainly set up for German clients. The first room we were given was opposite a working building site, we couldn’t have our balcony doors open or curtains because builders could see in and the dust and noise was intolerable. The room was so tiny there was a suite case stand but no where to put it, the shower was facing the toilet so when we had a shower, the toilet rolls got soaking wet. We asked for a change of room and the very nice dark haired receptionist told us we could change in 2 days, which we did. The new room was a little better as far as size, also there was a proper shower nothing else got wet. The wardrobe was only set up for short clothes eg shirts. My wife wears long dresses, there was nowhere to hang them without getting creased.
