“Christmas trip”

The best

We had a great time in la Almunia de la Alpujjara during our Christmas trip to Yegen. Yegen is a very small and calm village in Alpujjara de la Sierra. The apartments are located next to the main road so it is easy to get there and park (streets in the village are very narrow so it's an advantage). At the same time cars don't bother you because they are very few passing through the road. The apartment had everything that we need. Kitchen was very well equipped. Apartment was very clean and cozy. We felt very comfortable there. We got a better apartment that we booked and it has an amazing view on the mountains. We recommend to choose the apartment with a terrace. Terrace has also a small grill so were able to do a barbecue. Apartment was very warm. We loved our stay in Yegen!

“Nice hotel, nice village”

To be improved

It's a lovely place but there was no one there when I arrived at 3pm as I'd advised I would, so I had to go to the local bar to ask the bar owner, who was Irish, if she could contact the owners so I could gain access, but if she wasn't around I don't know how I would've got in. I think a mobile tel no would be useful so you could send them a WhatsApp message to say you're there and for them to let you in.

“comfortable apartments in a less busy part of the Alpujarra · Cons: we came here because we’ve been in the past and loved their gastrobar, but turns out they had closed it and there are no good places to eat in the village. Also, the apartment got no sun in the terrace at all, so couldn’t enjoy it either. They should give those choices when booking”
