“ROOM at the DROP!”
Very central location. Comfortable old (historic) room with a terrace looking straight down the cliff! We sat there, sunbathing in the cosy deck-chairs with the jackdaws flying around, roosting on the small ledges below us. But beides all this, the house alone is a treasure worth exploring. Breakfast was charmingly served in the cool foyer. There is also a roof terrace. Concerning parking; the underground place El Paseo costs 10 per night for guests of La Casa Grande. We walked up but thete is a taxi nearby. (We tried parking 'Arcos' but it was full & very difficult to get out again. Also I felt the locals didnt appreciate tourists taking place there.)
“Wonderful visit. Gracious hosts!”
If you want to feel like you are living like a Andalusian, this is were you stay. Wine and cheese from your room patio high above the valley!
“Magnificent hilltop terrace”
Magnificent terrace perched on the hilltop town’s cliffs, overlooking a jaw-dropping view. You feel like a guest in a small palace, which it is. Lovingly restored and artfully decorated, very comfortable with kind staff. Our sweet room used to be a dovecote up in the roof terrace, where we caught sunrises, afternoon siestas and silent starry nights. Arcos is the best of the best of hill towns.
“This is a beautiful peaceful place where there is a warm welcome”
A beautiful room leading to a terrace that had stunning views
I had to leave early so the ability to have a tea or coffee before I left would have been good
“A very charming hotel.”
A wonderful little hotel in a great position in Arcos. An oasis of peace with art on the walls and gentle piano music to accompany our (delicious) breakfast in the patio. Very helpful staff.
“Special destination hotel that embodies Arcos”
Special place, run with tender care and a desire to share a love for Arcos. We stayed in one of the lower rooms with the fabulous private terraces, but, if we come again, we'd book one of the larger upper rooms, which are more beautiful and have easy access to the sensational roof terrace. It is simply a fantastic mountain home, and ridiculously visual. It is also pearched on the most enchanting part of Arcos, between the two wonderful churches, on a winding cobbled street, and close to the fantastic restaurant, Bar Carcel. Would come again in a second to relax and refocus. An absolute delight, run by people who place meaning on all they do. Thank you, La Casa Grande.
