La Casa Verde

The rooms were insanely hot. Very little privacy. No air conditioning, beyond some old fans which barely made a difference. Was sweating in bed, found it very hard to get to sleep.

The general attitude of the staff is very bad. They are abrupt, unhelpful, you get told to move out of the way so staff can clean the kitchen even if you are cooking. They behave very strangely indeed. I missed a connection and returned to try to stay one more night. At this point a scruffy, dreadlocked guy I had never encountered before told me I was banned from the premises because I was knocking on the door to hand in a key that a Tunisian guy had left and I gave him some money for because he had left a €5 deposit. No staff emerged after 4 or 5 knocks on the door and windows. They are lazy and I suspect this hostel employs illegal immigrants at low wages. There is possibly something suspicious happening. It has the usual bizarre traveller mix. There is a separate bar within the hostel that hostel guests are banned from unless spending money on their alcohol which is chained secure in a drinks fridge. A very good experience on one front but a very bad customer service experience on another front. I am not the typical hostel guest and usually stay in hotels so maybe my customer service attitude expectations are too high.

It doesn't have a swimming pool. When I was showering, which is obvious to everyone in there, the workers tried to enter the shower room, it happened frequently. No privacy. Bad location, with the road and far from everything. It needs a renovation. The staff was not so very polite but were very cold. I also asked the staff to buy me some delivery and it was around something like 24.30 euros but he said his machine can't take cents and it has to be a straight number. So he asked for 25. But then when I was paying them for something else, the machine could charge the cents. So I got scammed too. Spain is an awful place to visit as a tourist. I have been to Spain so many times and I know. Also inside the room where I slept was boiling and I sweated so much. No proper air conditioner, at least not enough.

In the room with 5 double beds were no air conditioning just three small fans, with temperature outside +40 and open windows it has become sauna, people were smoking just under the sight no smoking and staff haven't done anything, you have to do your own bed, no towels, room that supposed to be locked with code could be open without it, some beds had place for charging some not - i wasn't lucky. No control of the guest, some of them smells like homeless, with no fresh air it was impossible to sleep in the room if you sober/regular person, I was sleeping in the kitchen on the chairs. Location is at least 20-25min from the closest bus stop, building is very old and wasn't so clean.
