La chumbera

The place gave a feel of what we expected from a country house. The lack of heat in early April was very noticeable. The tiny wood burning stove took the edge off, but still needed jackets. Was disappointed we had to pay for the firewood that was a necessity. The kitchen pots and pans were quite tired as were the utensils. On the upside, the outdoor kitchen was fun. The place was a mix of old country charm and needs some lovin'. The owner was very very nice and accomodating. P.s. The photo at the top of this review is not exactly accurate.

My family stayed at La Chumbera for two nights and we had a great stay. The property is really peaceful and beautiful. Upon arrival Jose was waiting to greet us and provided firewood for an additional €15. We were happy to find the house very clean, and appreciated the warm bedding as the bedrooms were a little cold at night. The photos represent the house well, except in person it’s even better! Plenty of parking, easily accessible from the road, such a great house. The location is perfect for those wanting to travel to Setenil and Ronda.

Location close to Ronda. Authentic village house, big pool. Host Jose was friendly and flexible. Very quite place and good to relax after travelling around.

We liked everything. The house is very beautiful and easy to find. In it, you find everything you need for a confortable and pleasant stay. The outdoor kichten on the back terrace near the pool is amazing, practically we only entered the house to sleep, the rest of the time we spent it there. The pool is big and gorgeous. It is very close to Ronda and Setenil, but if you have a car in less than 2 hours ride, you can get to Sevilla or Cadiz or Cordoba... The owner is very pleasant and helpful. Muchas gracias por todo!!!

Excellent location. The house is big and cool in the summer heat. The pool is well kept by Jose who is a wonderful host. We enjoyed the barbecue. Ronda with its famous Puente Nuevo is at less than ten kilometres or so. I highly recommend la Chumbera.
