All is good the manager super nice !
“All together I love this place and would come back anytime”
They did an amazing job to make this tiny space comfortable and it had almost all you need for a longer stay. I really enjoyed the old place that is in the center of the old city and close to the beach. Ferran who takes care of the guests is great and helps if it’s needed:)
Like mentioned in the other reviews it could use some more kitchen utensils and coffee mugs. The bed sheet is coming off all the time, I think that would be easy to fix. The problem with the mold smell was not so pleasant but I got it manageable with airing and heating. The sewer smell, just close the bathroom door. It’s an old building so that is what you get.
“Not worth it it.”
Location and aesthetics were what drew me, but in the end not enough.
The smell of mold/mildew/bad plumbing was overwhelming. The bathroom was so tight it was difficult; not everyone would be able to access the toilet. There is one street-facing window and one interior window. I needed both open to get air, but the smell was worse with the interior window open. The street window does not provide a lot of light since in the Part Alta the streets are narrow. I like minimalist spaces, as long as the space is well-used. This apartment is not well thought out and was lacking minor amenities and details - no single one an issue, but together, and on top of the smell, led me to leave after only 2 of my 7 scheduled nights. I contacted the property manager to let him know of my departure after I had secured another place to stay. He said that if I had talked to him they could have tried to switch me to a different property. I had already decided not to mess with that possibility since I wasn’t impressed with this property, but maybe that would have worked out. In the end, it was worth it to me to lose that money and be in a more comfortable place. The timing of my stay may have impacted the issue of the smell, as I was there when they were having the torrential rains that caused flooding in the area. Even if there had been no smell, it would have been one of the least comfortable places I’ve ever booked for an extended stay.
“Good”
The best advantage of this apartment is its location - in the old town (Part Alta), but at the same time not too noisy at nights. Around 15 minutes walk to the beach. Also not far from the train and bus stations. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. He sent to us all necessary information before our arrival. We also got from him some useful materials such as the map of Tarragona or reccommendations on tourist attractions and restaurants. There was no teapot in the apartment, but after informing Ferran, he provided us with one the very next day.The bathroom itself was super tiny, which is of course not the owner's fault - it is what it is, but I think more plumpy person just wouldn't be able to fit as there is really not much space. Bed was rather comfy, thou a little bit too short and our feet were sticking out. Wifi was working perfectly. We also made a use of the washing machine, as we stayed for 2 weeks and needed to wash our clothes. We generally had a nice stay, although there were some things that were a bit annoying to us or some areas for improvement. Pretty sure the owner would help with at least some of those things should we asked, but we just didn't want to bother him and wanted to rest and relax during our stay.
The bathroom was a bit too smelly, probably from the sewers. Had to keep the doors to the bathroom closed all the time, to contain the smell. There was no place to hang our towels in the bathroom. Mugs for utensils were covered in mould... In the kitchen there was no place to dry wet dishes. The only bigger knife we had was not sharp enough and there were only small glasses, no mugs - we decided to buy mugs for ourselves as souvenirs.
