“Rural retreat”

The best

Perfect winter getaway, peaceful, comfortable, lovely and warm with the log fire (wood available locally really cheap). Great views from lots of big windows in all the rooms which also let the sunlight stream in all day. (For summer time there are blinds and shutters to keep the sun out.) Kitchen fully equipped for cooking although cupboards and fridge totally bare, no basic ingredients (salt, pepper, tea etc). Good internet connection but TV is not smart. Really helpful hosts, always available for queries and very responsive. Easy to park, easy to walk into village centre. Lots to see and do in the local area. Apartment is spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water for showers, very comfortable beds and duvets, with extra blankets in case you need them. We will definitely return, we had a lovely stay.

To be improved

A bit cold on arrival, until we got the fire going. Only one set of keys, although intercom entry system works well if someone is in the flat to let you in - you can't take the keys with you if someone else is in the flat because electricity cuts off when you take the keys out, so you can't for example leave your phone to charge whilst you pop into the village.
