“Everything was nice until it wasn't...”
The location of the home is great, the kitchen had pretty much everything you'd need, the house was pretty spacious, the terrace was nice. Since we were staying in January/February it was quite cold and we were glad that there were heaters as well as extra blankets. Our host was nice until we had a bit of a misunderstanding...
Everything in the home is heated by gas, including the shower and cooking stove. Which wouldn't be a problem, but our host gave us a hard time about using too much gas for cooking and heating. One evening we invited 3 friends over to have dinner with us. At the same time our host came to provide more gas for the home as we'd ran out. As soon as she showed up, she started requesting extra money in cash for the people visiting even though they weren't living with us and even offered her proof to show that they had their own apartment. She became quite angry and kept demanding for money and telling us that it was written in the rules that you'd need to pay extra money for people who visit for longer than 30 minutes, even though we checked the rules in both Spanish and English and nothing of that sort was written there. I do understand that gas is expensive nowadays, but if it is, it should be included in the cost and we shouldn't get scolded over using the cooking stove and heater... Which are, after all, essentials to living. Especially if you tend to cook at home, which we did.
