Tucked away in the mountains just off the coast of Laredo, about an hour from Bilbao, lies one of the most stunning places we’ve stayed at in northern Spain — La Posada de Ojebar 🌿 This family-run boutique hotel is an absolute dream. Thoughtfully renovated from a historic family home, it radiates charm, character, and care in every detail — from the beautifully curated interiors to the exquisite (yet affordable!) restaurant and the sun-warmed saltwater pool that’s just perfect for a post-hike dip. ☀️🏞️ The owners have poured heart and soul into creating a space that welcomes guests from all over the world, and it shows. Whether you’re into design, nature, or just need a peaceful retreat with outstanding food — this place is it. We couldn’t have imagined a better, more blissful end to our 12-day road trip across northern Spain.

Great hotel room; quiet, very clean and very good beds. La Posada de Ojebar is situated in a very small village with superb views on the mountians and (at some places and with bright weather) a stunning view on the coastal line of Cantabria.

Spotless and very well maintained, also very secure for car and belongings. Being elderly this is important.Staff were superb.

To be improved

This property is rather isolated so suited me but some families may need to be closer to town or leisure facilities.
