“We really enjoyed our stay. We would go again”
The host contacted me before my arrival and arranged to meet me at the apartment. Very well organised; the host was very helpful; the house had absolutely everything we needed and was very comfortable.
The swimming pool was closed. It only opens in summer. It was very disappointing
“Great location, better accommodation than the pictures show!”
Graham was very friendly and understood I was in a rush so helped show me the essentials before I had to rush off.
No instructions for dropping off keys on departure
“Family Holiday - Las Brisas, Salobreña”
Fantastic apartment, just a couple of mins stroll from the beach, and just 5-10 mins walk from the main town of Salobreña. Lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, and loads of interesting places to visit in the area. We all love this apartment and the location - we've visited a couple of times now, and will hopefully do so again in the future. There are some really great restaurants and tapas bars in Salobreña, and we found all the locals to be friendly and welcoming. El Cuesta, Casa Emilio, La Galera and the churros place in the market were particular favourites of ours (although there a literally dozens of cafes, where the standard of food is generally good and the value for money, particularly with the free tapas, is quite honestly amazing). In addition to the beach (which is lovely), and the beautiful old town (and castle) on the hill, the commercial part of Salobreña has all the shops / services you could need. We also found a really good municipal football pitch and basketball pitch on the other side of the town, which the kids loved. There is also a really well equipped sports centre (near the bus station) which has tennis / padel courts / indoor swimming pool / football pitches, etc. Just make sure you take some ID (and details of the apartment address) when you first visit in order to register. It's easy to get around on the local bus service, to visit the likes of Almunecar, Granada, Motril and Nerja (which are all well worth a visit or two), so having a car's probably not even necessary - however, it obviously gives you even more freedom if you do.
It's a quiet apartment block, with a mixture of residential and holiday homes - which is great from our perspective, but does mean that you have to respect the rules that are in place. For example, the hours of the Siesta need to be observed, and the pool is only open for limited hours. That didn't cause us too many problems, as it's actually pretty nice to have some quiet time in the afternoon (when it's hot), or to use the time to go down to the beach (or out to visit somewhere), but it's something you should be aware of.
