“Not the Hostel for a Social Stay Uncomfortably Hot and Unfriendly Atmosphere”

Latroupe Poblenou Hostel was disappointing overall. The rooms were unbearably hot, like saunas, and even after asking staff to adjust the temperature, nothing changed. They were also tiny with little space to move. Bathrooms were modern with great showers and nice soap, but had an odd smell. Staff were friendly but not especially helpful. The area felt dull and not the nicest part of Barcelona, though being on Line 4 and beside a good Aldi was convenient. The biggest letdown was the atmosphere—mostly older, quiet guests. Not a social hostel to meet people, despite two-for-one beers at 8pm.

“Cons: I arrived and asked about my suitcase, she said I can fit in the room, I did sense hostility but ignored it and went onto the room as directed. No room for my suitcase. I go back down with full backpack and suitcase, she states again with attitude 'I told you underneath the bed already' I feel a bit humiliated, slowly saunter back up to the room. The bin below the bed does not fit my suitcase. I need a place so I just purchase a hotel last minute. I go back down and the rude staff member is now gone and new staff says 'oh yes we do have another place you can store your suitcase' mind you after I was told twice NO. I felt so humiliated and bullied, and I have yet to receive a refund.”

The lobby is good but the internet speed is way too slow The train station is far and they don't clean the room Further, I booked for 4 nights and paid 100 euros extra as I booked via booking .com. I could have got a hotel at this price
