“Huge disappointment- Bonvoy - seriously?”
This place is a tremendous, overpriced let down. We paid for an upgraded suite with a patio, and it was just one huge disappointment after another. Location is down a ratty street in a marginal suburb of Barcelona far from anything. No parking. No staff on site. Complex codes to get in and get your padlocked key. No water or kleenex in "suite". Rotten half eaten peach in the otherwise empty mini fridge. Patio is sad (and dirty) with broken pots and dead plants overlooking neighbor's laundry clotheslines. Noise from street party all night. No lock on entry door or patio doors. No food on premises. We are lifetime platinum Bonvoy travelers and made a huge mistake on this one. Minimal furniture. Just a huge expensive mistake. BTW Barcelona is amazing. Just don't stay here.
“Lovely hotel in a beautiful neighbourhood.”
Loved the neighbourhood, hotel was lovely, rooms were very clean, loved the courtyard too. Would stay again
Fridge didnt work but we were allowed to use the commercial fridge. Cleaners not knocking before entering our room. Especially on checkout day they started to come into our room when we were dressing and it was only 10.20! Stingy on coffee and tea supplies. Had to ask for more and stocks in communal area weren’t always replenished
“First stay at a Sonder Hotel. Garden room. Entry door system VERY erratic - multiple tries to get it to open. Elevator VERY antiquated - if someone on the upper floors didn’t close it correctly, it didn’t function. Room refrigerator never worked (also true in at least 2 other rooms). TV channels VERY limited. Patio furniture VERY worn. Location acceptable, but generally “middle class “. At best a 2 star hotel.”

“Downgraded just before arrival to a charmless room. Lovely location”
The location is brilliant and the staff that I communicated with were very helpful and efficient. Large beds and the courtyard was very sweet.
We were downgraded upon arrival to a significantly poorer class of room and had numerous issues with noise and with the partition wall not working. We chose the King Suite especially after extensive research and ended up in a scruffy apartment style room that lacked comfort and charm. We would not have booked the room we were shoved in and will avoid both Marriot Bonvoy and Sonder Hotels in future due to this experience. We did receive a partial refund but our romantic city break was ruined by the entire experience.
“Very good”
Nice and modern room, without the need of reception.. The location is fine, even if we're not lucky to have a working metro open during our stay (for construction works). Close to the room you can find many places to drink and eat and it's not far from many attractions. The bed was very comfortable and the shower nice and spacious.
The app gave us many many problems: even if the staff was very kind and responsive, I received a lot of unnecessary email automatic messages. About the room: I think the bathroom design does not offer much comfort and privacy: the sink was "detached" from the bathroom area and it's close to the bed(during night you have to turn on all lights to see), and it does not offer a bidet.
“Amazing locstion, just don’t “act” like a tourist.”
Loved the location and the room. The remote staff were extremely helpful if you needed anything, and the onsite house keeping were always very warm and friendly.
You can hear the people above you very well, so if you are a light sleeper it may be disruptive. Some people might also not love the fact it’s mostly a self service hotel. We didn’t mind it at all. It would be a full 10/10 if the building was quieter.
