The decor was poor including the wall in the lounge that had the aircon unit mounted where you can see the roughly filled in track of the wiring. There was a hole in the floor tile in front of the fridge. The furniture in the apartment was not comfortable and looked grubby. We would expect much better for the price you pay. When we unpacked and put suitcases under beds a whole load of dust came out - so we swept that up - but therefore it had not been cleaned very well. There was a hair clip under the sofa that was clearly from a previous occupant. The balcony was a great space and fantastic view - unfortunately the balcony furniture was very old, creaky, uncomfortable and broken in parts. There was a stain on the sideboard but we never used that sideboard - a key point given what later happened. Let’s admit things need improving in the apartment. The shower next to the main bedroom had lots of loose and missing little tiles. We had family staying in another villa in the town and spent much of our time with them. I guess we should have complained but we didn’t and it was poorly decorated, cleaned and maintained but we spent most of our time out of it. We stayed there 13 nights - this is the first time I have ever known there be no cleaning service or change of towels half way through a 2 week stay. The other lesson for us is that we should have taken pictures - rather like when you collect a hire car. It has cost us €300 to learn that lesson because Lets are saying that we were responsible for the stain on the sideboard and, apparently, a very sticky substance in the drawer. They have stated to booking.com that we are responsible for this and not telling the truth when we say we were not responsible for it. We did not open the drawer and so we didn’t know about it! They say we have no evidence that the stain and the substance was there when we arrived and they are correct - we don’t as we didn’t know about inside the drawer.
