“Beautiful secluded small traditional villa with private outside area”

The outside area was fantastic with plenty of seating and an outside kitchen and bbq. It was secluded but an easy drive to the beach or towns in the north. The washing machine was very useful, as was the outside clothesline. Inside, we had everything we needed, and there were little touches such as complimentary bottles of wine and chocolate. Plenty of bedding, air conditioning/ heating, a cot. Parking outside (tip: at first it looks like the driveway is too small but if you drive past it, turn around further up, then drive past it a touch, you can reverse in - it feels tight but is wider at the end. Our hirecar was a C3 and fitted)

To be improved

We were uncomfortable that part of the security was cameras in the kitchen and main bedroom (although it says these are only operational by alarm) The oven shorted the fuse for the whole house, which the agency were going to send someone to fix after our stay, as we realised this on the penultimate day. They did offer to do this during our stay, but we were going to be out so said to leave it.

“Hidden gem in North Tenerife”

The best

This place is a real hidden gem. We loved everything about it. The garden was completely fenced off which was great as our two kids (1.5 and 3.5 years old) could just run around without worries. The sounds of birds in the morning and everything is amazing. You're surrounded by mountains and nature. We loved the outdoor kitchen and BBQ area where we spend most of our evenings. The beds are very comfortable. Also a great location to explore the north part of Tenerife.

“A dissapointed stay in El Palmar”

When finally the sun came out, we could enjoy the garden.

To be improved

There is a lot of room for improvement. The cottage was leaking during our stay. Water came out of the roof, on the cabinets of the kitchen and the floor. When we tried to figure out where it came from, we noticed this had happened before and was badly repared. There is a terrible bad smell in whole cottage; which the owners tried to beat with chemical fragrance sticks, which was even more horrible. We would recommend to add a siphon at the kitchen sink and in the shower. Some items in the kitchen were old or damaged. The outside seating was refurbished with gaffa tape. There aren't sufficient electricity sockets in the kitchen. There is no living room, only a kitchen table and some chairs. And, there is a noise from the solar panel installation of the neighbouring garden which is super annoying and not very relaxing. The place also lacks a manual. We've shared after our stay two times all our comments (above is just a selection) with our hosts, but sadly they didn't answer. We were here in peak season and paid € 140,- a day, which is terribly over priced.
