Loft Matilde by Grupo Matilde

I have got no complains except two minor issues I write about below. The location of the hotel is perfect: it takes only 20 minutes to reach the city centre by bus (plenty of options in terms of bus services, and the bus stop is literally round...two corners) or by a city bike (there are two bike stations nearby, and the quality of the bikes were good and very good!). The vicinity of the beautiful sandy beach of Las Canteras is priceless!

nice apartment, good bathroom, spacious place

Had the 3rd floor room with a terrace, sunbeds and table with chairs, which was a wonderful extension to the apartment (not all rooms have the terrace). The apartment was surprisingly large: nice size entrance hall, living room+kitchen + separate bedroom and large bathroom and a wonderful, huge 20 m2 terrace. The kitchen was working, bathroom was very spacious, rooms were clean, the bedroom was cosy and the bed was king size. Air conditioning is conveniently separate for living room and the bedroom, and working wonders. Fridge was tiny, but fully functional. The only thing short of ideal was a missing washing machine (but there is a cheap laundromat available 1 min from the building, so not really an issue) and a bit larger clothes rack on the terrace. The apartment is situated in historic blue-collar neighbourhood La Isleta, which with narrow one-way streets and tiny houses still has its special charm. Safe and friendly neighborhood, parks and beach and food-shops and restaurants within walking distance: Las Canteras beach promenade is 10-15 min walk, bus terminal is 5 minutes walk, Aquarium around 15 minutes walk, nearest HyperDino is 5 minutes walk. Car rentals are abundant and cheap but parking is a challenge (and not cheap) in La Isleta, with a real possibility to get your car damaged since there just is not enough space. However there are good underground parking lots available nearby. Beware, the parking controllers are plenty and the fines are pretty hefty.
