“Basic accommodation in incredible surroundings. Upgrade to the plaza view room!!”

Very nice man at reception. The hotel couldn’t be more central and the balcony looked directly onto the Plaza Mayor. Basic but great value for money. I’d definitely stay here again.

To be improved

The reception didn’t open until 6:30pm so we had to wait around a long time to check in. There are no facilities other than a bedroom, so don’t expect anything fancy. Very basic accommodation.

The best

Perfect location with amazing views across the plaza. Friendly staff and no sound at all from the square outside - you just close the shutters and the noise stops!

To be improved

There was a lot of noise from people in the next room talking and shouting until very late. Definitely not the hotel’s fault but the soundproofing between rooms could be better.

“Loud, hot, not comfortable, at the top of steep steps”

In theory, this is a great place. It's right on the plaza with great views.

OK, it's a hostel, but that's more of an excuse. With a little effort, this could really be something. It's on the third floor of very steep stairs, so this might be difficult with luggage for some people. There is staff, but they are really not around most of time. If there is any chance that you won't be there during check in hours, arrange for the self check in. In the summer it can be very hot. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING. None. There's a fan in the room, which is not enough when it's 30 celsius. There is noise from the square. I was there two nights and there was a very loud concert in the square until after 1 am both nights. The staff was clueless and has no idea which events are going on, such as if there was a loud concert that night that would affect the people staying there. The bed and pillows are not comfortable. Yes, it's a great view, but it's a compact city and most hotels are going to have a great view. Any hotel between the plaza and the cathedral will have great views. Don't embarrass yourself in front of your family and spend a few more dollars on a hotel.

“Perfect location for a bargain price”

You cannot beat the location- right on Plaza Mayor and I think the best of the many Spanish plazas I have seen. It is not a hotel, rather a guest house so don’t expect what a hotel would provide. The room is small and the bathroom is tiny but all perfectly serviceable as you are only sleeping there. The beds were firm but comfortable and the room was well sound proofed. The woman on Reception was lovely and super helpful.

To be improved

The stairs are brutal but you are told about them on the booking information. The signage is small but you know the number you are looking for on the plaza. The air conditioner died sometime in the 80s but the fan was fine for the short time I was in the room.
